Due to the complete and utter failure of the mafiatale forum, I'm going to change it to something else. I was thinking of maybe a forum for Wii and PS2 emulation. Most Wii and PS2 games run perfectly or are playable with decent specs. Netplay works on the wii, but I'm not sure how good it works on ps2.
If anyone has any other ideas or likes mine please post here. Also i'll consider adding new mods/admins.

I think a discussion of those wouldn't really be enough to get a lot of people interested unless there was actually a way to emulate here instead of just discuss.


A forum on just that generation of gaming sounds good though, like anything about PS2, wii, Xbox, DS, and PSP. Basically a forum for the "1st generation of VGR"

I don't have the specs to run any of this, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't like to read it. There's one game in particular that I would love to netplay eventually... Does PCSX2 actually do netplay? If so, how? Is it just netplay of local multiplayer or can it emulate the network adapter and everything? I would flip (internally, of course) if I was able to do 6 player netplay capture on Jak X: Combat Racing.

I'm interested in emulating VGR systems, so I totally support this idea.

I'm quite used in Dolphin, but still haven't tested out if my computer can handle Wii games. I had my attempts at emulating PSP and PS2, but I couldn't get the emulators to work properly. This forum could serve a good purpose for the interested people, even if it's just a few of us.

I'd be interested in netplaying the Gamecube games I have for Dolphin, but not sure if that's actually possible for me since I live in the other side of the Atlantic. Still, there's plenty of things we can all figure out if we can spawn some discussion.

earthwarrior : I literally burnt a graphics card in my old computer when trying PS2, and since then I've refrained from emulating it. I had a slight attempt at it, but the emulator was driving me crazy to set up and thus I ditched it out in favor of an easier shot, Dolphin.

I was able to run PSP on my old computer, but looks like some files got lost when I transferred to the new one and the emulator couldn't even start. I don't really need it, though it could come in very handy.

So far, Dolphin has produced good results, and the more I play a Gamecube game the better the game runs. There are games which play perfectly and others that aren't that perfect but still playable, despite what the Compatibility List in the official site says. I'm quite positive about testing out Wii games, but I just don't feel in the mood of doing extensive work towards such a simple goal.

I've attempted PCSX2, PPSSPP, Dolphin and DeSmuME and I can't run any of them to even half speed, but sometime in the future, I intend to build myself a budget gameing rig that should be able to take care of anything. Currently, I'm on a Toshiba Satellite C655D-S5200. It has an AMD C-50 dual core at 1.0 Ghz, AMD Radeon HD 6250 graphics at somewhere around 375 Mhz and I think it takes about a half a gig of system RAM. I had 3 GB of DDR3, but I took the sticks out of my Sony VAIO when it died and upgraded to 4 GB.

You might get some good traction with this idea if you made a noob proof guide on how to setup PCSX2/Dolphin for netplay (including how to install and configure the emulator for general usage and how to rip games manually). A thread dedicated to who's up to netplay what games wouldn't hurt either. Might even work better if you just opened the scope to any netplay happening off of Vizzed.
