So. Does everyone find those wal-mart greeters who check your ticket as you leave, annoying or kinda nice?

What if vizzed had one of those. Except, they turned in action as replying to a newbie thread and helping out new users feel more welcome. You're kinda like their mentor that helps them around and be nice to them, to get more users to stay.

This is like a serious, yet not serious suggestion xD I did dun know where to put this BECAUSE I'm not really serious about it. Unless people really like the idea, then I guess I'm serious about it xP But I wanted thoughts.

My brain is so scrambled, I don't even know if anyone will understand what I just said xD

I get it like when you enter into a store the staff greets you kindly shows you around if you get lost, and help you find certain items. I say its a good suggestion most of the staff actually do greet them in the newbie forum. I know I used too do this in the past, but stop for certain reasons. If we were to have that position I feel the person would get overshadowed in a way. @.@

it's kind of already the job of the newbie forum mods to do that. At least in theory.

I don't know how much they actually end up helping but that's something they should be doing.

Same with the help/question forum mods. They should be doing similar things but less focused on the newbies and more on anyone that needs help.

Completely agree with you on that one. She may not have been around every single day but the days she was around you knew it because she was welcoming everyone.

I miss having her as a mod but people as good as her are eventually going to do good things outside of Vizzed as well.

If you can believe it, before on the board when I saw a new username come up in an area I went to that persons profile, and welcomed them there. They didn't make a newbie thread on the boards, and I still got a thank you. It sounds rather sounds off it was another way I greeted new people and not just on the newbie forum.

Well I think this is a thing that we should ALL be encouraged to do. I know most people never bother greeting newbies. I think it's time we all stop being so cliquish and start being more welcoming to new people. The future of the site depends on them as much as it does us.
