I think pokemon has become so popular that it makes all kids want to play it and also its veriaty of animals/pokemon which attract many people towards it that its so awsome. i love pokemon ever since i was a kid so i have followed all of their games ..... i even went to japan so i could catch Deoxys who is epic. But my main reson to think that pokemon is awsome is because the way it connects with people through the show and the game which is why i love it!

Its awesome because it allows people to escape the real world and have monster aka pokemon to play with and fight with and such.

I don't really like Pokemon anymore, because there are like 5,000,000 Pokemon now, meanwhile back then it was easier to keep track of 3/4 of them, second they use Ash too much, i mean GET A NEW MAIN CHARACTER BESIDES SOME STUPID GIRL WHO COMPLAINS TOO MUCH, third, the pokemon are just plain wierd now and some of them look retarded, although I do like the games, they arent bad, but i mean you gotta agree with some of those reasons that i put. Oh and I think Ash should just evolve Pikachu with an electric stone, it would make Pikachu MUCH STRONGER, because Raichu is amazing

This guy thinks that Anime=Games. Wrong. Ash has never been in the mainstream games and in no way are the games connected to the anime besides the theme.
And the exact number is 495 pokemon, though that will change soon with new games coming out.
Pokemon that look retarded? While I agree that pokemon like Probopass and Lickilicky look like crap, plenty of new pokemon are better than the old ones. The old pokemon were all recolors of real animals except for a few, while the new ones are MUCH better then Ekans (SNAKE people, SNAKE.), Ratata (It's a purple rat. Big deal.), and a bull with many tails is original? What about the pokemon that are three pre-evos glued together (Magtrio, Dugtrio)?

And Ash keeps Pikachu that way because he LIKES it that way, and Pikachu does too, pokemon in the anime is not like in the games where pokemon get more powerful when they evolve.
Anyways, Lightball + EV Trained Pikachu > Raichu, have you ever thought of THAT?!

2 things. 1st of all, did you just quote that for viz, (wait, did I just quote it for Viz too?) NVM.
2nd. I mrfatcat is right, It has had its ups and downs, but its still great. Some things just weren't very creative back in the old days too, like horsea and voltorb, but they do have really great ones.

Oh, and there are actually 493, (I memorized every one .) Zorua and Zoroark shouldn't count yet, but... whatever.

My opinion, It is awesome because... because... Just what retro_general said! Its just so fun, it's almost like life, with pokemon!

Hey I use to watch Pokemon alot when I was a kid but I havn't watched it very much for years!! But I would still think Pokemon is awesome!! But when I get 20000 Viz to get that laptop I pretty much will watch Pokemon again!!

When i was little i did not know eney one when i was my age that did not like pokemon it just has a strange thing to it. Even at 21 it still has that old feeling of lots of time spent playing the games

I'm not that impressed with the anime, but I do love the games because they're a great escape. I also enjoy the manga and reccomend it to poke fans. Red > Ash

Its definitely so good because you literally get caught up in the game and the pokemon become your babies. You train them and get to watch them grow. Also because they keep coming up with new pokemon.

I thick it's awesome because it lets me be more than I really am. It let's me escape from the confines of reality to do something extraordinary. It also gives my imagination so many new ideas. I often find myself imagining that a pokeball comes flying through the window and choosing me to become the world's first pokemon trainer. This may just be a flight of fancy but it makes me happy. And that pretty much sums up what makes pokemon so awesome in my opinion.

I think it's awesome because there is soo much you can do and because it is fun.
