Well I think we do need to be more careful and just be aware of surroundings. You can't live your life in fear but its okay to be very careful. As for terrorist attacks this weekend marks the 3rd time Isis has attacked America on American soil. First one was in Chattanooga were a man pledge alliance to Isis went around shooting armed forces recruitment. Second one was San Bernadino CA were a couple pledge alliance to Isis and attacked a hospital and was going to do more with bombs before being killed. Finally this weekend a radicalized young man pledge alliance to Isis before shooting 100 people killing 50. Isis confirmed he was one of theirs.
While mass shootings and act of terror are horrible and tragic when they come. They are not the top things that kill us in America.
1. Cardio Disease 650,000 per year
2. Cancer 625,000 per year
3. Medical Error and Malpractice 320,000 per year. Yes you are 10x more likely to die due to a doctor messing up then getting shot
4. Lung conditions 250,000 per year
5. Stroke 200,000 per year
6. Diabetes 150,000 per year
7. HIV/Aids 100,000 per year
8. Liver problems brought on by Alcohol 90,000 per year
9. Drugs 65,000 per year
10. Car Crashes 50,000 per year
Now, lets go back to being aware of your surroundings and environment. If you live in a country town then you probably don't have to worry much about getting shot, killed or raped. Now lets say you live in Chicago or Baltimore In those two cities you have a high chance of getting shot, mugged, robbed or raped. Lets say your in Honduras the murder capital of the world. The violence is so bad in that country that 1 out of 10 people are murdered.
So again that goes back to be aware of your surroundings. Know what type of city your going into, what type of country you are going too. Now in the case the Orlando that was a random terrorist attack that you hope never happens. Maybe a solution would be concealed carry permits, more police (though they are corrupt sometimes)
I'm a Christian so I also have to just hope and pray i'm never in these situations
