The way I came up with my name is really very simple, especially if you're a football fan. My favorite team in the NFL is the Atlanta Falcons, and their QB Matt Ryan's nickname is MattyIce, the same as my nickname. However, that is just a coincidence. I'm not sure the way he got his nickname, but I received my nickname from my bowling friends.

One night during a bowling league, I was the anchor bowler for our team ( the person who bowls last ). We needed 29 pins to win, which meant I needed to throw at least 2 of the 3 possible strikes in the 10th frame. Long story short, I struck out ( threw 3 strikes ) and we won the game by 2 pins. One of my teammates shouted "he's got ice in his veins, MattyIce!" And there was born the nickname that stuck with me for the rest of my life.

It is more of an elemental theme going on with me and my sisters. Azul Fria is like saying Cold Blue. One sister's nickname is Roja Calor which roughly translates to Hot Red and the sister that also posts here vaguely is Kage Negra which is Black Shadow.

At the time I was both reading HP Lovecraft and watching Doctor Who. I noticed that Cthulhu, when read like a normal person, sounds like it has "who" in it. During my next account creation (I forgot what site at this point) I punched it in and saw that it wasn't taken. Some time later I was looking for a profile picture on a site where I used the name. To my surprise, there are a number of pictures of Cthulhu wearing a fez. I'd set one here, but I haven't figured out how to use a profile picture yet.

I always thought that my user name was pretty creative. Anytime that I create an online account ( whether it be an email address or just a user name for a website ) I type Kruzer to see if it is available or not. Oddly enough, it is not always available which I think is weird because it is such a weird and random name. I came up with this name back in my high school days ( around 2008 ) when I finally got the PlayStation 3. I spent a lot of time deciding which name for my ID would best suit me.

Just off the top of my head, I remember thinking that some people use alias that are similar to their own names without it being too obvious. So, I started with my initials ( KRU ) and thought about some words that used the letters K-R-U. Kruzer was the first name that came to mind and at first I did not like it because I literally thought of this name instantly. But over time, I began to compare it to the other names that I came up with and eventually it became the best user name I have ever created! The sad part is that the name was already used on the PS3 ( and is also heavily used on other websites ) so I had to change it up a little.

I wanted a name that sounded like an actual name but still was unlikely to be taken on forums and sites.  No offense to people who like names with random numbers on the end or some sort of phrase instead, it's just not me.  I'm not entirely sure on the thought process that came up with Selden anymore, but looking back on it I think it's likely that at some point I'd heard of the Kansas city by that name and just forgot about it, thereby believing that I was being cool and original.

My mother came up with NovemberJoy, because I was born in November and she insisted that I was a "Joy" to be around. And so far, that name has stuck, especially since it seems to be relatively uncommon. The only site I've found where it was already taken was YouTube.

Yeah, it's really cheesy when you know where it came from, but it's a decent username. At least, from my point of view. Maybe I just see it that way because it's my username.
