In 3rd grade my teacher said that when she had black and white TV, that it was almost like the world itself was in black and white. I mistook this as her saying that the world used to be in black and white...

When I was about 6 or 7, my mom used to say how we would go to Miami some day. I thought that she was saying that we would go to her "ami" as if ami itself was a place and I would ask when would we go to MY ami? because I thought everyone had an "ami".

This might sound kind of silly, but as a child, I believed the things I had(for example, my Tonka truck, my Radio Flyer wagon) had personalities. But then, as a child, I always loved the commercials more than TV programs themselves, so I guess that isn't too surprising.

Hello all. Glad to see this one is still going. Lot of good responses. Anyways I just popped in to add another I thought of from when I was a kid. I remember that when I was about 6 or so I used to go to bed with the salt shaker. Because I heard many times my dad and brother talking about salt being used to keep away ghost. My brother made sure I was plenty scared of ever seeing a ghost. Which I did but that is for another subject. Take it easy all and happy father's day to those fathers in  here today.

The biggest childhood belief I had was that my father would wear a Power Rangers uniform on whenever I went to see him so I was adamant that my father was a Power Ranger, I had this for 12 years until he told me that he wasn't and it was just a show. I swear I lost my heart and couldn't find it for a few weeks.

When I was little I used to believe that everyone would become male when we were older.... Ha ha ha no I never thought that. But good job if you get the reference XD

I once believed that Bikini Bottom was real. And Narnia. And Terabithia. Basically I believed all places in films and TV were real.

I also once believed that a giraffe lived in my attic (came from me mishearing the former homeowners speech when we bought the house).

But the funniest thing I once believed was that we all lived in a huge toy, the sky was a blanket covering it, and at any point a child could tear away the blanket and destroy civilization.

I'm pretty sure this first one is a common belief. I used to think the power of the exhaust coming out of the car is what pushed it forwards, not the wheels turning. XD

I also used to think that if you listened to music through headphones and someone was talking to you and you couldn't hear them then you would go deaf. This one is partially my dad's fault. I just got my iPod and I was listening to music. He asked me a question and I couldn't hear him. He asked if the volume was loud and I said no and he said good, if you do that a lot you will go deaf. I thought he meant not hearing people because your listening to music. It wasn't until I was like 12 that I realized he meant listening to music too loud lmao.

I guess I believed in the statement "You can become anything you want when you grow up". Clearly you can't I figured out when I was growing up. 

Some people are meant for certain stuff and some are meant for other stuff. I think it's impossible to become whatever you want, it's just a saying but still.
