First of all. I'm not a Brony, but some times it can be annoying with MLP pictures plastered everywhere, but seriously... Anti Bronies are INSANE they are pretty much cyber bullies but never admit it, remember that kid who tried to commit suicide because he got bullied for wearing a MLP backpack? that is on so many levels messed up, sure its a show meant for little girls but they isn't affecting anyone at all, i don't understand why..... they seem like a pretty tame fanbase to me. is it because they are all accused of being Cloppers? 

I had to look up "clopper" because I didn't know what that was.  Urban Dictionary changed my reality again.  Yeesh.

Bronies get a bad rap because my particular culture has our gender lines of what is generally accepted and anyone over the age of 15 enjoying (a) cartoons that are nice and pleasant and (b) ponies, is simply frowned upon.  Add the quiet, semi-sexualized and latent homosexual connections and you have people who aren't easily accepted.

The big question I always have is, "Why do you, Mr. 20 or 30 year old man, enjoy a program aimed at small children?"  It would be similar to watching a grown adult do a 10 piece easy puzzle, or color a picture with zero challenge.

My Little Pony shouldn't do anything for adults.  It's not mentally challenging, there's no social commentary.  It's just... ponies.

It makes no sense to me.  I don't hate of bronies.  They can do whatever as long as they're not abusing children but..... are they?  Weird, see.

Cause the show is for girls.

Because the show's aimed for little girls and it's about ponies, yada yada. I happen to be a brony or as the fanbase like to call female bronies, a pegasister or pegasisters for plural. I'd have to agree with you that anit-bronies are beyond hurtful. I've never encountered one, though I've seen fights over the internet and it was pretty ugly. From what I gathered, bronies like MLP:FiM (My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic) because of three reasons:

A) The animation is smooth and the art style is appealing to the eye.

B) The songs are catchy and the fan-made songs have a good beat.

C) The characters are lovable and can be related too.

The dialogue is terrible, but what can you do? It's a children's show for crying out loud! What's really messed up about the fanbase are the creepypastas and porn made by those fans. You do NOT want to read those in the dark, all by yourself or see the porn. 0_0 Trusted me, it's disgusting.

haven't been accused of that but (mind you, this was youtube trolls so such things are to be expected sometimes) i have been called autistic (not true), gay (that one actually is true >.>), several other typical insults and/or lies, and i think the worst by far (imo) which pretty much made me flip out in rage at this one troll was being called a pedophile for liking the show. wtf, a pedophile just because i am a fan of mlp:fim? geez, thats harsh don'tcha think?

now, i won't go into detail about some of the pics i've seen over the years (some tame, some...nightmare fuel, and others well...yeah >.>) but i can safely say that i am DEFINATELY not a pedophile. for me, thats just another thing on the long long list of reasons i dislike the human species (not all individuals but as a species? definately dislike them greatly).

tl;dr it seems to me that humans simply tend to attack/insult/discriminate/etc. anything that is different or to they're disliking. in this case, its mlp:fim. we humans are quite horrible aren't we?

edit: oh and if anyone cares about it (curious or whatever), i happen to have one of those anti-bronies in my youtube contact list in the blocked section. after a quick google search, it doesn't seem as bad as i thought (unless i missed something). just the usual gathering of haters and trolls i'm sure most fans of pretty much anything have to deal with sometimes.

What more is there to say than it's not a social normality and that it's a well known group of people on the Internet.. Same with many other groups of people that get attacked.... 

See the weird thing for me when answering this question is that I never really notice it because I'm not the sort of person to really care about what other people are saying about me. Though unlike everyone else here I probably have the most reasons to be called names and such.

At the end of the day if I had to say what truly annoys me is the general pettiness and stereotyping.... Oh he watches MLP, he must be gay.... Because being gay is totally a wrong and vile thing... 

Heck the people that know me well could easily write an essay about how much of an idiot I am, and why I am a disgusting individual, and I'd agree with them and laugh about it... but at the end of the day I'd much rather just chill and play video games and not discuss the whole brony thing....

Just ignore it essentially. Words mean nothing on the Internet, if you haven't spoken to the source of the words before.

usually i'd agree with you on that (except maybe the pedophile thing. i mean, who wants to be called that by anyone for any reason?) and, well, i've heard a good variety of insults and taunts in videogames (single and multiplayer) over the years so the phrase "i've heard/been called worse" comes to mind. as for the homophobic remarks, i don't usually care much about that since like you said, its just words and i never put anything more than my username or avatar out there for people to throw against me so no real harm there, just varying degrees of annoyances.

I watched a documentary on this subject. And I have to tell you to see grown men love my little ponies so much is kind of weird. But I don't know if you would say They are looked down on. I guess I grow up in a time when boys played with GI Joe's and girls played with ponies. I guess that's my hang up not theirs.

Also I understand, honestly speaking I feel the same way when I see kids just sitting at home on ipads all day, or walking around with their phones in their faces... 

It just seems the world is advancing far too quickly for the human race to comprehend culturally.

treos : I commission my art... Otherwise I'd be making avatar's for people. Also the first copy of my OC was made with the same pony creator.... It's a good programme to get a good base for your OC in my opinion. It's just a shame I can't change my name on Vizzed to the user name I use elsewhere.

It's a  shame if  any one is attacked for liking a cartoon. But I like the way you see both sides of the coin. But like I said it's my hang up I try to understand but it is hard.

If you think about it, this isn't too much different from parents who watch children-TV shows with their kids and end up enjoying it. That's a common occurrence, and nothing is thought of it.

Adults can and do enjoy some children TV shows. It's not something new.

In fact, I was waiting at the dentist office a few weeks ago and they were showing an episode of Arthur. I enjoyed it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I see Bronies as enjoying something similar.

Some people look down upon Bronies because they're quick to judge, and subscribe to outdated gender norms. Luckily society is progressing, and before long it won't be a big deal. Because it shouldn't.

As for those who assault Bronies, they are just terrible people.

Like whatever you like. It isn't illegal and it doesn't hurt anyone. As far as I know, there is no legitimate connection between being a Brony and being a pedophile. But even IF it was shown that convicted pedophiles also happened to be bronies, that doesn't matter. Doesn't mean all bonies are pedophiles. Kind of like a "all thumbs are fingers, but not all fingers are thumbs" kind of deal, only not applying the word 'all' in this case.

Sword legion : The show is for girls, yes. But can't boys like girl things? I'm a Bronie, and i get harassed for it at school almost every day. I just wish people would stop gender segregating.
