-Mods, I guess you can delete this, seeing as we now have dupe threads. I was creating this while there wasn't any, and I guess someone beat me to the punch-Oh man. There was a LOT of things dropped about the Wii U version of Smash brothers 4. Some already known, but most wasn't. So lets get this list started. By the way, this is just a listing of a few things, and here's the
Nintendo Direct... Directly delivered to you!
- Characters that were unlockable in the 3DS version are now starters. (ex. Jigglypuff, Ganondorf, and Bowser Jr.)
- 8 people can play a match at once. Only certain stages allow this, and there are a lot of larger stages including a new, bigger version of battlefield, as well as the Temple stage from Melee.
-The Great Cave Offensive from Kirby Superstar is a playable stage. It is a large one (so 8 player compatible) with danger zones, which mean not only do they damage opponents, but at 100% instantly KO.
- New and returning stages. Mario Circuit (MK8?), Castle Seige (Brawl), Yoshi's Island (Melee), Lylat Cruise (Brawl), Mario Circuit (Brawl), 75m (brawl), Wrecking Crew, Skyworld (Brawl), Norfair (Brawl), Port town Aero Dive (Brawl), Luigi's Mansion (Brawl), Onett (Melee?), Delfino Plaza (Brawl), Bridge of Elden (Brawl), and a Miiverse stage, which has miiverse posts floating in the background.
5) Snake's conversations are brought back (spiritually). Pit can down-taunt on Palutena's temple and get conversations with Viridi and Palutena about other fighters. Others with join in the conversation, like Chrom from Fire Emblem Awakening. Radio conversations from team Star Fox will also show up on their respective stages.
-Metal Face from Xenoblade chronicles appears as a miniboss in the Gaur Plain stage. Ridley is
playable a miniboss for Pyrosphere, and the person who defeated him will have Ridley fight for them. Ridley can also become meta Ridley.
-Stamina matches, where you fight until your % hits 0, and coin battles, where you fight for the most amount of money, are available. Special smash is also returning.
- The Wii U version has a much bigger soundtrack, so you can play any song from the game in any stage. You can also change the menu music. Almost all the tracks from the 3DS version will be in the Wii U version.
- Challenge mode from the 3DS version is also in the Wii U version, and all the challenges are all on one screen.
-Classic mode is now based on how well you did in the last stage, unlike choosing what path you take. you can also play Classic in Co-op, along with event matches(which are returning), and trophy rush. All-star mode is still co-op, but you go reverse-chronologically (2014-1980). Multi-player stadium matches (Home-run contest, target blast, multi-man smash).
- Because the 3DS version has Smash Run, the Wii U version has a similar concept called Smash Tour. It's like Smash run, but on a board game.
- Special Orders. These are challenges set out by Master hand and Crazy hand. They offer rewards for a challenge (like a Classic mode match), but you can only do them once. Crazy orders are a bit different, as they require gold [5000] or a ticket to enter, and the more challenges you do, the harder they get. you can end this streak (and obtain your booty) by battling crazy hand.
- Master Core has a new form, called Master Fortress, and appears on higher difficulty levels (currently unknown, but I guessing 7+).
-More trophies, including final smash trophies, which you obtain from all-star mode. Masterpieces also return, as well as stage builder.
-you can team battle with a second player in online/for fun mode. you can also talk with friends via the gamepad mic. You can't chat during matches, though.
-Bowser Jr. was officially announced. You can also see the trailers for the other fighters.
-Mewtwo is also joining the battle. No, I'm not joking. He's still in development (spring 2015), and will be given as a free download for those who buy both versions of the game. I'm not sure if this means you have to register them like the CD offer, or what.
So there you go. a bunch of information on the Wii U version on the game. Again, This isn't EVERYTHING in the Direct, so go watch it from that link at the top. So, thoughts?
