I am pleasantly surprised with how well the Lions played defensively against the Packers yesterday. We kept them down pretty much the whole game, and Rodgers was never able to really get rolling. It would have been nice to see the offense close the game down early, but a win is a win, and doing it against the Packers is something we haven't done with Rodgers at QB for Green Bay. Too bad we lost our MLB in the process,ACL injury during a celebration for a sack, no less. But at least we could hold up even without him.

And the Broncos and Seahawks game was pretty entertaining towards the end. It was crazy seeing them come back from that deficit in the stadium.

patar4097 : I take it your team is the Lions?
And yeah, that Seattle and Denver game was very very good. but got really interesting in the 4th quarter. It sure helped me when it went into overtime, and Lynch got a Touchdown to seal the deal. Just about sealed the deal for my fantasy match-up too. XD

As for the Ravens, they are worrying me. Lose to the Bengals, Destroy the Steelers, Barely beat the Browns. Um, excuse me, but has the AFC North been flipped upside down?

Already this early in the season and there are no more undefeated teams. The Patriots tribute to Devon Still and his daughter was a good old tearjerker. I am not a big Patriots fans but I love it when teams do something this nice for someone on the other team. That is class at its best.

Currently watching the Houston-Indianapolis game. So lopsided early on (Houston is sort of catching up)... And this hasn't been the first lopsided game on Thursday night... Last week, Green Bay demolished Minnesota 42 - 10. Two weeks ago: NY 45 - Washington 14... And of course, Atlanta murdering Tampa Bay 56 - 14 in week three....

How many of you are surprised to see so many lopsided games on Thursday night? And how many of you are tired of seeing these lopsided games?

it depends on who the team winning the most is. If it is my teams the Ravens, Bengals or Browns than I like it when we win big. Other blow out games as I call them I really do not care one way or the other.

I am fine with the Thursday night games and the Colts Texans game did get a lot more interesting. Thankfully the Colts won in the end. I think part of the problem is the same with the games in London. It's been one good team versus one bad team the scores are reflective of that. If we had say the 49ers versus the Cowboys, or something like that on Thursday night, the games would be a lot better. I know there has been some criticism over the really bad match ups going to London. Some of those games have been terrible.

The Percy Harvin trade, thoughts?

I'm a Seahawks fan, and I was watching ESPN when the news broke, I was shocked and disappointed. After letting it sink in for a while though, it makes a lot of sense why they traded him and I am okay with it. It seems they let him go for three reasons:

1. He wasn't a good fit on the team

The Seahawks never learned how to utilize him in their offense and they struggled as a result. All the jet sweeps and screen passes worked at first, but defenses were catching up to it. They got away from what make them successful last year which was a ground and pound running game first, and a play action passing game second.

2. Attitude problems

He supposedly had a bad attitude in the locker room and got into a number of physical altercations with teammates, including Russell Wilson. He apparently even gave Golden Tate a black eye during the weeks leading up to the Super Bowl last year. I'm not sure how much of this is true, because a few Seahawks players expressed their disappointment of the trade on Twitter, but Golden Tate also had an interesting reaction:

http://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2014/10/17/6996583/golden-tate-responds-to-percy-harvin-trade-with-live-action-kermit

3. To get rid of his contract

Let's face it, the Seahawks weren't getting nearly enough production to justify paying him $10M per year and they could use that money to resign other players, such as Russell Wilson, Bobby Wagner, and K.J. Wright, and Cliff Avril.

All in all, most people seem to think this was a bad move by the Seahawks, but I think it was a wise one. It was a rare mistake by the Seahawks front office to trade for him, but at least they recognized it quickly.

Chewedmint : I actually made a thread about it, since there hasn't been much NFL news. XD

Surprised about it as well. Maybe now Baldwin will start getting some points for my fantasy team. I haven't played him in awhile because he doesn't get enough points.

The Conference Championship series is already gonna happen next week. I know this may not be the exact teams in their respective conference champions but by coincidence the top two seeds of each conference are playing each other.

AFC

1. Denver vs 2. New England

NFC

1. Arizona vs 2. Dallas

Well, talk about an upset. The Oakland Raiders won their first game in more than a full year. A streak of 16 straight losses comes to an end against the Kansas City Chiefs. There was a point where they tried to give it away, but they were able to stick in the game, and hold them off.

I didn't get to watch all of it, but the final 5 minutes (which I saw in its entirety) was some great football. The rest of it was pretty entertaining, but just watching how into the game the Raiders were, acting like it was a Super Bowl winning drive after scoring the touchdown with just over a minute left was cool to see. And they aren't bad enough to be up with the almighty Lions of '08 to go 0-16, so I'm pretty glad they won.

Also, the Bills and Jets game had to be moved to Detroit, and will be played on Monday night because of all the snow. Sort of weird that this is the second time Ford Field will be hosting a game in the regular season with two different teams. They also had a game when the Vikings stadium roof collapsed.

What is pretty interesting this week, I am looking forward to the Pittsburgh vs. New Orleans game. The reason why I'm looking forward to this game, it happens to be my old hometown (Pittsburgh, pre-2012) vs. my new hometown (New Orleans, post-2012). But you know me, I am all in for Pittsburgh.

I can't believe that the Giants lost to the Jaguars last week. What should've been a good win for Coughlin ended up being an embarrassing loss. Despite a decent showing from Jennings and a nice game from Beckham, the Giants couldn't pull out the win. I don't even know what to think of them anymore, and I'm not sure if Coughlin is in danger of losing his job, but a lot of coaches would be if they were in his position.
