Unfortunately, that is how it is for kids in a casino. One time, I went to Reno, Nevada to bowl in the National Championship at the National Bowling Stadium. At the time, I was 21 years old. I wasn't 21 for very long, and I certainly didn't look it either. The first time I stepped foot on the casino floor, a security guard immediately walked...no...RAN up to me and said "How old are you?" Of course I said that I just turned 21 not too long ago. And he's like "Can I see some identification? This is no place for a child." Let me tell, I almost took a swing at him, because of the way he said it. I calmly showed him my ID, and he very reluctantly let me go. I went to a couple tables and I noticed he was following me for about the first half hour or so.

But that is how it is in casinos...they're no place for children. Apparently, they're not very nice about it either.

No I don't think it was being rude... it might of came off as rude because of his voice but usually people at casinos and stuff are pretty strict. It might of been his voice and yet it might of been because he  had been asked it alot before and was just trying to do his job.

I would say that in perspective, you can say that it is pretty rude, but he's probably only doing what he is told to do. Keep the kids away from the betting machines and all that grown-up games.

It doesn't sound rude to me at all. I think it's probably pretty normal to want to keep kids away from those areas and to me.... it make sense.

How did he say it? Did say it as in he thought adults were superior? Or was it a "Sorry, I'm just doing my job" tone of voice?

That might have sounded rude but we don't know how the security guard said it. It may have sounded mean to you also but maybe he wasn't being mean and you just thought he was

It's a little more polite than saying "Why are you bringing your kids to f***ing casino in the first place?". I suppose he could have just said "No sorry we don't have anything" but I honestly don't see how that's being rude. I personally would have probably apologized and said no but he's just doing his job really. I don't think he was saying it in a way where kids suck. More along the lines of this isn't a place for kids.
