To Those Interested in Game Testing

As I did in the last thread, I want to mention something about testing games.  A lot of you have many misconceptions about the position. The position does NOT require you to simply play games and report what is wrong with them. This would only create MORE work for tRIUNE. Instead, testing games is about going through dozens or even hundreds of games, testing them, AND FIXING THEM.  This requires a lot of resources (which are of course given to you), and attention to detail.  If you are a robotic worker, good with 'assembly line' type of work (i.e. You have your task and you repeat the same steps repetitively).... THEN I could consider this position, and only then.

Much of the time, you need to have three or four tabs open, cross referencing file names, adding files to the game, and then checking once more to see if it works.  If it doesn't there are other things you can try.

Not all games require a lot of work, but I'd hate to see someone try the position, realize it's more work than fun, and end up leaving tRIUNE without the help he needs.

To me personally, also, the roll takes on more responsibility than even what I have mentioned.  While going through the games, I tend to add ALL game content, screenshots, review assignments, etc etc etc.  After all, why should someone else have to follow up after me and go through all of that.... when I was already working with that game and it is fresh on my mind?

Singelli : If being in Computer Science is some kind of example for the work, fixing the machinery and making sure programs work properly then I can't say I still wouldnt mind the position. Its something new to learn and to keep my mind busy when I don't feel like doing anything else. Believe me, I already kinda figured what I was getting myself into and expected it to be more work than sitting around and just playing the games.

I'm so happy to see your post! The reason why staff is in such short supply is because the work and dedication required for each job is something that most members don't see. The staff works behind the scenes and many people don't see all the effort they put in. It's great to see a point made that with great power comes greater responsibility. To keep your position, you have to dedicate yourself to it.

Singelli : I think David should put that into the first post. Many people think it is just playing the games, it's not that easy.

Davideo7 : I would like to apply for Video Maker, I have 25 videos and if I get promoted to site staff I will make one video every day, Each video will be of a different game so if I stay site staff a year, I will make 365 videos per year. Sometimes if I feel like it, I will make more than one video per day. I also have 2044.2 CP, 5.0 TP, and 269.1 CP for video rated.

I posting to apply for the Review Writer position. I know what you are thinking, I haven't been active for a long while. But, now since school is over, I finally have some free time to get on Vizzed and participate like I know I can. Below I will have the link to my Batman review, and I think it is quite good. tgags123 : I do got to agree with you 100%, being a staff (or higher) isn't just having a interesting username and do a lot more special features, you need to contribute a whole lot to the site.

So, to anyone that apply to be a staff, you have to make sure you do what's needed to be done and for whatever role you select, you got to keep at it, because if you start slacking off, that'll be bad for you and that could cause a lot of problems in the coming days, it's not just about having a solid bottom line and a dotted upper line, and your rank says "Site Staff", you need to prove that you are a site staff, which I think most of you all are capable of doing.

The first part was just me saying that there are some people here that should be staff and some that shouldn't. The second part was about how staff is about work and isn't always fun and whatnot.

tgags123 : Yeah, I have see the whole thing (both parts of it), I did happen to rush it a little but and you can the same though I had as well regarding becoming a site staff.

I was relcutant on doing this because of exams but now they're almost over I have a lot of free time.

I was a RGR staff on my old account as well before but had to step down due to me moving and then having no computer for a while. After that I took a leave from vizzed for a while. But I know how much work is required and how much time I need to set aside in order to do it. I woild easily be able to set aside 10+ hours to work on reviews. I actually enjoy making reviews. The only reason I didn't make more is because a new semester had just started and I got too focused to that. But now I can put my full attention to this job.

Singelli : Oops, I didn't think of it that way. In that case I will step back from my apply for game tester. Thanks for telling me, I thought that it was something like testing 2-3 games per day and adding some contents and screenshots.

starwars293 : Yes you can. I mostly do reviews on the VGR. So you can do whatever ones that you find enjoyable doing. Hope this helps. ^-^

I would actually like to be a reviewer...Even though i already consider myself one.So yes,i officially apply for being a reviewer.

I'm not to good at grammar,But i promise that i will improve if i am told so.I make a review once every two weeks (The mods on the Pokemon forums have restricted that btw..sucks.But i'm hoping that if i get this spot,i will be allowed to do more.)

I am 24 (Despite what my profile says.Btw,you really should add in the feature to change the age.Believe it or not,some people screw up when doing that,i am an example..*Sigh*)

And one more thing.The things i review are very..Special.You see,i don't review games,i don't review movies,i review..Pokemon.Not the Pokemon games,but Pokemon themselves.It's a bit of a weird hobby,but it's what i do.
