Snowdeath : Well if you rely solely on drifting, then it's hard to get a time less than a minute. You have to hop multiple times at curves so that you don't stray too far from the curve while maintaining the same speed. That's even harder than just drifting, because you have to make sure you click the right arrow (I mean right as in correct, not the direction right). If you don't, it becomes harder to maintain speed and your time will remain high. Just a tip for the future.

I had trouble with the blue miniturbo at curves and stuff, not just moronically turning and calling that drift. Turning is turning, drifting is a hop and turning then pressing the right arrow... durrrrrr hepr dorunrjh

That moment you got your time without actually drifting... I did the whole jump and turn thing, but not once did i bother to mini turbo

Seriously though, It seemed that a lot of people had trouble with this game, especially the ones who'd played it before...

I've played this game twice, One for this challenge and another in the vizzed camp... Maybe being a noob to a game helped lol..

UPDATE TIME.

I would have updated last night, but I had a few reasons why I couldn't. I tried uploading the video I made last night this afternoon, but my computer wouldn't recognize my phone (what I used to make the last video, you know, the good one) so I had to switch to the noisy webcam that distorts a lot of things. Keep that in mind. I debated not making a video at all because of the technical issues.

Another long night on the island, resulted in some snaps at camp. Members of Kiga were getting frustrated with their lack of success during challenges. Fights were breaking out on the hour. Some were begging for a merge, so as to join up with more competent players. Others were hoping to just get past the team stage of the event. Still others were asleep and not even paying attention to the game.

Throughout all this fighting, you would have never guessed that less than ten miles away in either direction, the Hokori and Kengen tribes were celebrating their win over their weaker adversaries.

During the celebration, the question was asked...

"Who do you think Kiga voted out tonight?"

Some were hoping it was one of the two challenge beasts. Others were hoping it was becerra95, the only person not to submit a time.

While they were thinking though, the sun rose, and just like that, it was time for another challenge.

They of each tribe gathered themselves, and headed off to fight for survival yet again.

A couple hours later found everyone at the designated challenge area.

"Come on in everyone!" legacyme3 shouted at you from the offscreen brush area.

You follow directions, first entering Kengen, then Hokori, and then finally, the weakened Kiga tribe.

"Your first look at the new Kiga tribe. becerra95 voted out last night.

No one was really shocked, and he rambled on.

"Today's challenge will be a Tetris challenge. You probably figured by now, but your goal is to get the highest score possible."

This version of Tetris, would you kindly?

It's simple, and the rules are just as simple.

RULES
1. Go to game page, and click "Compete for High Score". Yes, only high scores submitted without save states will count.
2. Choose Game Mode A in game.
3. Highest score wins. You may choose from any other options not specified.
4. Once you get your high score, SUBMIT IT TO THE GAME PAGE. Only high scores submitted AFTER 5/18/2014, and submitted BEFORE 5/25/2014 at 10 PM EST will be eligible.

"You will notice however, that Kiga has only 5 members, and that the other two have 6... well here's the good news and the bad news."

Everyone is braced for the worst.

"For the sake of competitive balance, whenever there is a mismatch like this in terms of numbers, the tribes with the most members, in this instance Kengen and Hokori will have to sit somebody out. Normally, in the show, each tribe would get a say in who sits out, but if I did that for every challenge from here on out, the game would drag on. No, rather, Kengen and Hokori will have to step up their individual game."

"This means, that the Kiga tribe's 5 members will all compete, and that one member of Kengen and Hokori will sit out."

"In the interest of chaos... the first person from each tribe to post in here will get to choose who sits out this challenge for their tribe. (IE - sonicmcmuffin could choose KG to sit out, but not EideticMemory."

"The challenge starts now. Oh, and if no one chooses anyone to sit out, the best score from that tribe will be eliminated."

"As always, questions are welcome."

Oh, also, I forgot to mention this, but the same person can't sit out back to back challenges.

Since supernerd117 chose KG this challenge, she cannot be chosen to sit out the next challenge.

sonicmcmuffin : It's been a while since I've Tetris'd, but I was pretty good at it.  And I didn't just assume that KG was bad at Tetris.  She took a while to post last time, and I didn't want to take a chance that we would have one score of "0".  If by any chance I've made a mistake, I'll be booking it to get a really high score to help our team.

legacyme3 : I submitted my score using the high score function of the version you mentioned, but when I submitted it, it didn't show up on the high scores list. As of this post, it should've been #20 on the list. Until it shows up there, here it is so far:

KG : Yes, I know this puts more pressure on me to perform my best, and I'm OK with that.  I don't intend to let my team down, like I did with Super Mario Bros. (I waited too long to get and submit my score).  Even though I got our team first place, I regret I didn't get us there sooner.  People doubted me, I even doubted me.  I will not let them down again.  Sonicmcmuffin and I were among the hardest workers last round, bringing in great times, even though we weren't very good at the game.  Our good and long practice paid off.  And it will be the same with me this round.  I will inspire our team, even if we don't manage to gain victory this round.

supernerd117 : Not a big deal. I'd imagine you should try your best whether it was me being sat out or not. Anyway, good luck, team.

The worst part is that I'm pretty happy I beat the default high score. I suck at tetris like you don't even know.

Yeah tetris is really a game i despise deep down in my core.... and silver.. my score is about 1/5 of that...

Tetris is a game of patience.

In the show they have endurance events that last an hour or more. In this game your best score may be the result of an hour of work.

legacyme3 : Yeah I'm actually really glad you chose Tetris to be our next game because it's a stragetic puzzle game that gets progressively harder as the blocks speed up. Which makes it a fun game

deg2000 : I'm so glad you told me what tetris was, i would have never understood otherwise, After all the story is complex and the characters are amazing.. The "L" shape block has an evil twin brother and in a need of peril the "I" will come and save the day!
