Hello everybody! I am Chewy2014, also known as Tara. I'm a college student, so this means I am not in the best money situation. I like Pokémon and had stopped playing the series after Platinum because I could not keep up with the generations after it. Therefore, I have been searching for a way to play the games as working emulators with no luck. I stumbled upon this site and lo and behold! I have found the mother load of Pokémon games. I did not play every generation before Platinum but now I can! It's a great feeling! I decided to join this site after seeing this because I would also like to play more games that I could not previously own. I thank the people who own and help run this site for this opportunity. I might not be able to play everyday, but this cuts costs lots. Once I explore this site a bit more, I hope to find things that I would like to earn Viz toward.

Anybody have any game recommendations? My friends have played Chrono Trigger and Pokémon, but I am up for anything!

I am Editing my post to be included in the "Seven Days of Newbie Celebration" thread and as it asked, I am going to attempt to try to summon... wait for them...

Juliet:
and
Singelli:

If this worked, then I will officially be part of the new celebration! Woo hoo! I hope they have some cool game recommendations!

Hey and welcome to the site Chewy,

It's nice to see that your actively trying to take part in the forum already, Sadly summons won't work if you edit them into posts. As i found out myself lol!

You did everything right though to be able to summon, so no worries.

Saving Viz is easier than it looks as well, Just try and log in everyday and you get 100 Viz for free, which is usually enough to buy/play a free games.  As for game recommendations, I'd say Final Fantasy, mainly because a lot of people haven't actively played the originals...

Also if you ever need any help don't be afraid to ask the moderators, they are here to help after all !

I hope you continue to enjoy the site and i shall hopefully see you around as well

Welcome to vizzed!! Unbelievably so, I haven't really played much Pokémon before to tell u the truth, but then I have just recently played Pokémon Fire Red alot, that can be a good Pokémon game to play, and I will be sure to learn more Pokémon games in the future, and also learn to train my Pokémon better ROFL, I had only 2 Pokémon strong enough to take on the Pokémon league which I guess that was the last part of the game, but after a while of doing that and failing I just had to give up!! Well anyways happy gaming!!

Herpy Dooves : Ah! I see! That explains a lot! I was afraid to make a second post under this on my first day, so I decided to edit it instead and wondered why I couldn't click on things. Thanks a lot! I'll try Final Fantasy soon! My friend just recommended it to me today, and he said 7 through 10 are for Play Station, but when I went through the first few titles on this site and they are all for the handheld systems. Fine by me! One of them reminded me of the Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets game for the Game Boy Color that I absolutely loved when I was younger. I still find myself going back to it. I loved the battle system! Again, thanks for explaining why that didn't work! Very helpful!

Awesome-Kid : That makes the game incredibly hard. Reminds me of when I first played! Ha ha! I thought the original games were Gold and Silver and I was so sad and confused when I couldn't get Pikachu as a starter. Made me upset a bit. And the items in Pokeballs! I thought people left Pokémon lay about. Oh reminiscing... good times... good times... If you balance your team with types and power levels, it's pretty easy, but it looks like you learned that! I hope you continue playing the series! It is slightly different every time, yet the same game progression in different regions. If that doesn't make sense, I'm sorry. I'm not good at descriptions.

Attempt two at summoning the Admin's for the "Seven Days of Newbie Celebration!" Go!

Why? Because learning the forum and getting free stuff for it is kind of my thing!

Hi Chewy, welcome to Vizzed. Are you enjoying the site so far? I came here for the Pokemon games too, but then I discovered that Vizzed has even more to offer than just games. Have fun, let me know if you have any questions.

deg2000 : Hello! Thank you for the Viz! I appreciate it!

tgags123 : Hello! I am really enjoying this site so far. I was skimming through the site during a study break and I found out that you were very right. This is not just for video games like I previously thought. Thank you for informing me because I honestly would not have looked further than the game room for a few months if I was not told. I might be able to post in the Health board because it is one of my hobbies/interests. Although I am getting my degree in things not health related, I'm trying to take a few classes that would count toward my majors and feed the interest.

UFC : Hello! I have never heard of Illusion of Gaia, but I do believe I heard of Tales of Phantasia. I'll try anything once. I recently got into Minecraft and my life will dissolve once I have free time again. School, midterms and other tests and homework and all.

marianne26 : Hello! What version are you playing? I missed a few of the more recent versions, but if you have any confusion or get stuck, I'm here to help!

Thank you all for replying! I've been really busy with school and haven't been able to reply daily. I do log in and read your posts to stay caught up though! I appreciate everybody's interest!

JackalHyde : Hello! I'm actually the type that doesn't eat crap. There is no ramen in my diet because of allergy reasons and I can only deal with so much bad pizza. Unhealthy things make me feel slow and sluggish and since I cut out milk containing fat, I'm feeling much better than I usually do. This does not mean that I do not allow myself to have a treat or a crazy day once in awhile. I'm kind of a chocoholic and love my rollos and Hershey products. I don't watch my weight, I go by how I feel after I eat. I think that is the difference between me and a normal college student. Also, no rabbit food. I don't do salad. Anyways, thanks for the welcome! I feel pretty at home here already, but home is a grey area... distant cousin we check in on sometimes might be where I am. Also, thanks for the add!

UFC: I don't mean to be rude, but could you move your comment/potential conversation with Flibbith to private messaging? It's exciting to get notifications about a new post, but when it's not directed at me in my own thread, It's a bit of a let down... No hard feelings!

JackalHyde : Well, honestly I'm avoiding some work right now. It's my last project due before spring break. It's due tomorrow at 2 in class. I've been skipping out on sleep for the last few nights, so literally my brain is all "Oh, it's okay, we still have like 17+ hours to get this done. You'll be fine. Just chill out for awhile. It's okay!" It's a liberal studies class that I'm not all that great at and I've missed it three times this semester already. Blah! The only reason I took this class was because I believe in Sherlock Holmes! My adviser saw that I did really well in Chemistry 101 and suggested that I take this class because I'd be okay with it. As for my major, I am a dual major with a minor. I primarily study Asian Studies with my interest in Korea although my school lacks everything except the Korean language class. I don't blame them though because there is really not that much interest at my college in Korea. I find it sad. My second major is Anthropology which I will be focusing on during my super senior year next year. All 300 and 400 level classes, yummy. My minor is in Religious Studies because I took two Buddhism classes and World Religions so my whole brain went "Why not? It's only two more classes!" I only need one more class to finish it though. I'm hoping that the class I need is offered in the Spring of my graduation year (2015) because if it is not, my schedule set up for Fall will not work and I would have to substitute a class I've got some interest in with one I know I cannot handle. Archaeology really isn't my thing. I'm more into the culture aspects of life, not what it was way back in history, but what it is now. It's funny that I study people because I honestly don't get along with most and after being an Anthropology major for so long, I'm starting to see how we are all kind of depressed. We learn all the things and different aspects of life and see how things are good in one way but we always see the bad. Sometimes in class I write "Is Anthropology ever happy?" in my notes and joke that we graduate with a degree in life, clinical depression and activism. I'm slightly cynical. It's hard not to be honestly.

Sometimes in class I write "Is Anthropology ever happy?" in my notes and joke that we graduate with a degree in life, clinical depression and activism. I'm slightly cynical. It's hard not to be honestly.

UFC : Hello again! I played the beginning of the Play Station Portable version of Castlevania on Christmas. My sister's husbands younger brother had it and let me have a go at it. It seems to not really be my cup of tea. Most of my friends love Zelda, but I don't really understand it all that well. I remember playing it when I was younger. All I did was ride around on a horse. It might have been Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker? I'm not entirely sure. Again, I had a horse I rode around on and did nothing else besides that. I might give it another try soon. I know who Megaman is, but I have never played the games. It is the same with Metroid. I'd like to investigate Ninja Gaiden because I have never heard of that game along with Illusion of Gaia. My friend does fan art for Chrono Trigger and is quite good at it, so I definitely know of it, but have again lacked the funds needed to possess the game to physically play it. Now that I have this site, I'm super excited to be able to dive into these things. I'm actually considering buying a cheap controller just for emulators. I have a Nintendo 64 controller and an adapter for my laptop but for some reason it didn't work for my Donkey Kong emulator that I downloaded for Visual Boy a long time ago. I have kind of lost faith in being able to use the controller to play emulator games with. I'm bringing it to school with me after I return from spring break so my computer science major friend who knows his technology can see if it's my emulator or if the controller or adapter is just bad. I'm hoping and holding out that it is just a poor emulator. The controller and the adapter were Christmas gifts from three years back and I'd like to someday be able to use them. On another thought... are there any Nintendo 64 games worth trying out here? I've seen people post about save issues with certain emulators and it worries me to get so into a game to have it basically die and not save in the end. It's actually how I ended up here playing Leaf Green. My Heart Gold version of Pokémon that I downloaded would freeze and all my progress would be lost. I saved frequently, but I would also have to reload the entire game over every time it happened. Thank you for all of your recommendations! I'll try to spend some time with each!

Chewy2014 : Well have you played muschief makers? thats a good n64 game, another good one is bomberman 64 but you cant play it on this site because of the bad n64 emulators on this site so maybe just download a n64 emulator and play the games on there. Legend of zelda ocarina of time and majoras mask are good as well for N64, banjo kazooie an dbanjo tooie are also fun and also goldeneye 64.
