I'm 32 and when I go for walks I like to step on ice and hear it tinkle, crack, and I crush it under my foot.
Does anyone else or am I just weird?

I usually avoid the ice because of the safety hazard it provides, but if it doesn't appear solid I may crunch it.

Yeah, I enjoy crushing ice beneath my feet on the sidewalk, it feels almost... empowering. Usually though I end up getting unlucky enough to be on top of "strong" ice and slip, fall, and hit my head. It's nice when I can actually crush it, but it doesn't happen too frequently, especially with so little ice around most of the time.

I've stepped on ice and it does make a cracking sound. However, I try to avoid it for the safety reasons. In my climate when we get ice its usually black ice and you can't see it. Also we do not get a lot of ice to begin with

Only if it's the "Crackable" kind. If my foot lands and nothing happens, I hate it because I end up slipping, but if it's just soft ice, I love smushing it with my feet. But I agree with Supercool, I would gladly stop if it meant spring comes.

I love crushing the weaker ice under my feet. Unfortunately, most of my sidewalks are covered with a thick sheet if ice (And possibly snow), so the only weak parts are above a puddle, and I kinda don't want to get my shoes wet. :/

Yes, i love to do that. I go outside and crush try to crush as much ice as i can, no matter how hard. I slip sometimes, and it does hurt, but i get back up and crush more ice. I've always loved the feeling, and crushing ice is one of my favourite parts of winter.

I Live in Georgia so I don't get the good feeling of crushing ice very often. When I do its very thin ice so its perfect for crushing.

I LOVE crushing ice. I always crush ice when there is any. There something satisfying hearing a crackling and crunching of feet under your feet. Sliding on ice is fun too.

Me and ice don't mix.  Most the time I slip and fall if there is ice around even if it's coated in a thick layer of sand I will slip on it.  Though I have to be honest I don't fall as much as my step mom does lol!  She fears stepping outside this time of year because she will fall the moment she goes outside.

Not, really. No. I enjoy walking on snow, but never ice.

I've never 'enjoyed' crushing noises, anyway.

I do enjoy the sound of snowball fights. Hearing the sound of a snowball hitting someone is fun. lol

I'll tell you what can be scary.  Let us say you've lived in Houston, TX your whole life and had only seen ice if it was inside a freezer.  Then you move to CT and the pond across the street freezes over and you think to yourself, "hey look I can make it to that island in the middle now", so you make your way out to the middle of the pond with no problems and explore the island in the center finding nothing worth the trip.  As you start to get off the island you start to hear these weird pinging and crackling noises.  Needless to say I was scared out of my mind.  I eventually had to crawl on my stomach and slither back to shore.

As far as regular sidewalk crunching I kinda enjoy it somewhat, though I know of some people that really can't stand it.

When it snowed, etc I liked to crush the thin and weak ice. If It's hard it may be dangerous to walk on obviously. I remembered when I slipped on ice and I fell on my head. I needed some minor help. So that is the main reason I stay away from some thick ice.

I wouldn't really say i enjoy cracking ice, by walking around like a yeti, but if it's slush than i get a weird satisfaction by walking on it... I have no idea why..

Plus it's really good at kicking at friends when they get on your nerves... In a totally nice joking way of course.. I'm not some evil slush kicker!
