Only if a perfect name comes to mind or if I feel like naming the Pokémon an stupid name. For example, I would name Flareon Blaze if it's a male and Volcanis if it's a female. For an stupid nickname I would put InvisibleMe for Kecleon or Solar Blasted for Sunflora.

I didn't use to nickname my pokemon when I was a little kid,but after watching nuzlocks online and reading comics about them.The first time I nicknamed my pokemon was when I was replaying platinum.I named my Infernape Inferno,my Staraptor Ace,my Luxray Zapper,my Lopunny Fluffy,my Garchomp Dragneel and Milotic Aquarius.But I only named my main team,while the other ones that I catch to complete my pokedex,    I don't name them.I keep nicknaming my main team to every other pokemon game I have played since then.

I have never named my Pokemon before. But, like the game tells you, it does make it more fun. I've watched plenty of videos where people were doing walkthroughs, and telling you what kind of pokemon to use in certain situations. A lot of those people created really funny names for their pokemon, but I, personally, have never thought of doing that before. I tried to do it once...when I first started playing the G/S/C generation, I named my Cyndaquil "Big C" because he was awesome. But that was a quick turn-off for me.

That depends on the Pokémon. If it is a normal Pokémon, I will either give it a nickname that is clever or not even bother. If it's a legendary, I don't bother with nicknames at all because the legendaries are typically one of a kind. Overall...10% of the time, I do.
