Welcome to Metropolis! Dr. Light has summoned you all for a very important mission. Dr. Wily, who was last seen a while ago when the great Mega Man defeated him, has returned. I don't know for sure, but it seems that he is now building a robot that is supposedly stronger than all other robots put together.

Now you may be wondering what this has to do with you guys. But since Mega Man already left to investigate, Dr. Light has chosen you to find the eight keys that can unlock the location of Dr. Wily's base.

The problem, however, is that guarding these eight keys are the toughest robots Dr. Wily has created yet.

First, hiding in the Recycling Plant, is the robot that can crush almost anything and turn it into a weapon. He is known as the Recycling Rampager, Cycle Man. He has no element and is a defensive style robot, so he does not go down easily. But some recent reports have shown that he is not a big fan of strong winds.

Next, there is a man who lurks in the shadows and attacks civilians. The speed of this man is inconceivable. He terrorizes all that see him, and he strikes those who expect it least. Living in the Night District, where sunlight never shines, resides the most feared robot, Night Man. A neutral robot like him cannot be taken lightly. He hides in the shadows, so maybe it would be best to bring a flashlight or something that illuminates.

The third robot is a very powerful fire style robot that can supposedly create meteors from magma and rock. He is a very strong robot and, despite his size, can hit a target with unbelievable accuracy. He is the robot who lives in the Magma Cave, Meteor Man. Mega Man actually faced him once, but because of an important task he had to retreat. Mega Man did say something about water causing him to flinch.

In addition to the earlier three mentioned, this fourth one resides in the Sky Base. Getting up there in itself is a struggle, but the base is pretty cool. That's where you'll find the menace who is known for blowing his enemies away. This is where the Wind Warrior is located, Breeze Man. He can attack with amazing accuracy and he is very fast. Breeze Man does hate wood though, so be wary of that.

The fifth robot resides in the Greenhouse Extravaganza. Living off of the plants that grow there, this nature robot emits wood attacks that can deal critical damage to whoever isn't paying attention. His name is Vine Man. He hates fire, as most plants do, but plants obey his command, so be careful when facing him.

Robot number six, a crafty little guy who can shock the will out of anyone who faces him. It's the strong and feared Shock Savage, Volt Man. He lives by the Power Plant, and his strength can pulverize even the strongest of robots. But he's afraid of guns, so keep that in mind.

This next guy loves to hang by the shore, but he terrorizes those who dare to swim in his ocean. The Diving Devil who resides in Seaside Bay, Ocean Man. He's pretty good at defense, but he isn't too fond of the darkness.

Last, but certainly not least, is the range specialist who lives in the Countryside Range, the unique robot who can shoot anything on sight, Vulcan Man. His accuracy is unmatched and when it comes to dealing critical blows, he's one of the best. He's a long range adversary. I suggest hitting him with some heavy metal...cuz who doesn't love heavy metal?

There are three regular abilities and one special ability. The three regular abilities can be used if you have enough energy and deal a variable amount of damage depending on which one you choose. The special elemental attack is a much more powerful attack that has a side effect dependent on the element that you are. However, it can only be used once per location, so make sure you use it wisely. Furthermore, it takes all of your energy to use so don't use it unless you have to. Now go ahead and choose your elemental attack.

We will not use this in the tutorial mode, but if you select RUN, you have a 25% chance of escaping the battle against the enemy. You sacrifice your turn if you try to run. Running can be a very useful tool when stuck in a tight situation. Unfortunately, it does not work against bosses. Furthermore, choosing to run will prevent you from using an item until the next battle encounter. It isn't too hard to get used to, but don't try and RUN from every battle, because you need to get stronger in order to stand a chance against Dr. Wily.

Now it's time to show you how to use an ITEM. By selecting an item, you can increase your attributes such as health, energy, attack, defense, etc. It all depends on the item you choose. The downside is that using an item costs a turn, so you cannot attack the enemy. Now please select ITEMS.
