My first handheld console was the Gameboy Color

As far back as I can remember I think my first handheld console was a DS. I can't remember how old I was either. 

My first handheld was a Pokémon-themed Gameboy Color that came bundled with Pokémon Yellow.  I got it for Christmas when I was four, and I still consider it one of the best gifts I've ever gotten.

I don't recall how old I was, but my first handheld was either an original Game Boy or a Sega Nomad. I miss that Nomad.

The first handheld console I owned was the Game Boy Color and I got it when I was 7 years old (I think). I miss it so much...

Wow talk about making me feel old. First handheld game I can remember having was Merlin (sometimes known as Merlin, the Electronic Wizard) was a handheld electronic game first made by Parker Brothers in 1978. Merlin is notable as one of the earliest and most popular handheld games. Merlin's simple array of buttons and lights supported play of six different games, some of which could be played against the computer or against another person. Here is the list of games that could be selected:
1.Tic Tac Toe
2. Music Machine
3. Echo, a game similar to Simon.  
4. Blackjack 13
5. Magic Square, a pattern game similar to Lights Out.
6. Mind Bender, a game similar to Mastermind.
The Music Machine game functioned as a musical instrument; in this mode each key was assigned a musical note, and sequences of notes could be recorded and played back. This made Merlin one of the earliest digital sequencers as well as an early consumer-level electronic synthesizer.
The next game I can remember having after that was an old classic Mattel Football game that I used to play for hours. 

The first handheld console I have ever owned was my Nintendo DSi, which I still have ^^! I got it when I was ten years old primarily for Flipnote Studio, but I later went on to get games for it like Pokemon HeartGold Version, New Super Mario Bros., and so on .

Mine was the Atari Lynx. I was I think seven when I got it for Christmas, but I still remember being amazed that it was in color since I had played friends' Game Boys before that were colorless. My Lynx worked pretty well until the D-pad got stuck, making it unplayable. Still, I remember some good times with it, despite it being rather bulky - as a kid I didn't care.

My first handheld was a Game Boy, the original, fat handheld, then after that broke, I ended up getting a Game Boy Pocket, and still have it. Still works really well.

My first handheld was a black Game Boy Advance SP that I got when I was 3. It stayed working until I was 12, when I accidentally dropped it in and knocked over my cup of water, making it completely useless. I got a silver one a month later though.

I think it was an original Game Boy that my cousin had and gave to me. ...actually I know it was, because I had Super Mario Land on it and I never could beat it. I was...four? Three? Somewhere in there. Too little to hold the darn thing, I remember that much. It still WORKS, too, surprisingly.  I just don't have many games for it. Tetris, Super Mario Land, and Face Ball, I think are the only ones I have left.

First handheld I had that was ACTUALLY mine and not a hand-me-down was a glacier GBA. My parents never would get me a Game Boy Colour, so I had to get that once I got older and could pay for it myself...which was long after the GBA had come out. *I now have Pokemon Yellow though so I'm happy*. First game for the GBA I got was Shrek, of all things. *snort* Then Pokemon Emerald and Final Fantasy Dawn of Souls. After that came ALL THE RPGS. XD 

I can't remember what age I first got it but a black and purple Gameboy Color.  I do have some small memories of playing it in the car when I was a child.

My first was the original Gameboy. It was see through clear plastic. You could see all the mechanical stuff inside. It had a green screen, and played in black. It had maroon buttons. My favorite game to play on it was Super Mario Bros and Elevator Action!! I was around 7 when I got it.

I never actually owned a hand-held console, but the first one I played - other than those primitive black-and-white ones with little depth like the Simpsons' cupcake throwing game - was Game Gear around the end of grade 6 or 7.

The first hand held game console that I ever owned was the original gameboy. I got it when I was around six years old and I remember one of my first games was the blue version of Pokémon. I had this gameboy for the longest time until I ended up giving it away to a family member. I have a lot of fond memories of that Gameboy, and some not so fond. Like having to go through the God awful cave where you ran into Zubats for what seemed like every other step you took.

My first handheld console was a teal GameBoy color. I no longer have it because my Grandparents got it for me for like my sixth birthday, and my parents didn't like that they bought it for me, so they took it and gave it to the neighbor kid not 5 minutes after my grandparents had left. 

My first handheld was the original GameBoy. My brother and I got one when I was about 5. I used to play Looney Toons and Qix all the time and occasionally mixed in some Tetris. The GameBoy is still a great handheld to this day.
