Barathemos : I have not won a Tour de Vizzed yet, I think the best rank I've ever got was 3rd overall. It's very possible for me to get 3rd place before this TdV ends. I also want to point out that it's funny that not only am I 4th place overall right now, I'm also 4th place for each of the Overall Jerseys.

Wow I lost blue jersey yesterday by one post but I guess that is okay because I was never even going for it yesterday.

Oh. Isn't there a way to just program it so they don't count in the first place? It's kind of a joy-kill to receive the jersey & then have it taken away.

Hmm...once again I've managed to score without trying. Oh well. Maybe I can participate more in the next TdV.

Well, looks like I may have to (attempt) to stop you from stealing 3rd overall in this TDV, David. I'll at least see if I can try though I was mainly concerned with wearing a red jersey for the month.

At least it's being considered. I am a little disappointed but at least you don't have to worry about me rage quitting or anything like that. I'm enjoying this place too much.


EDIT: Another thought occurred to me. What about changing the requirements for the jerseys? Right now, they depend on the most or biggest of something. Why not make the requirements about quality? I realize that would require more active participation on the part of the mods & it would be harder to implement an automated system for tallying results, but it might cut down on spammy posts that are just going for the most or biggest of something. Either that or just restrict the TdV to one section of the forums instead of making it board-wide.

I think surgiac makes a valid point, but I am not sure how we could motivate users to make quality posts if the option for blue jersey is still around, I would probably say to base the quality off of post ratings as a measure of it, but then that gives everyone a reason to spam their post ratings. Then everyone would rate their buddy's posts up and it would be just as bad as spamming. 

I think the rules should be modified to restrict spamming, but not give anyone a reason to spam for something else. There should probably be an orange jersey or something for best quality posts XD

I've been reading through the treasure can and looking at other TdVs. I think this competition has been excellently moderated so that anyone has a fair shot. I don't think we need any changes. 

I still think the TdV could be restricted in the future to a specific section of the forums. That would mean a lot less subjects with which to spam.


EDIT: The section within which it takes place could also be rotated so that some of the mods would get a break from it.

Agh. Forget it. I'm way too worn out to participate any longer. David can have 3rd place if he wants since I already have the real reward I wanted for next month. And David probably deserves it more than I do anyways.

Surgiac : It'd be really hard to get the staff to vote on the best posts for each day.

Actually JigSaw suggested what you're suggesting in the past. His idea was that the Tour de Vizzed each day would only count for a single forum and each day that forum would change. We could possibly take that idea a little further and do categories instead of forums. Another thing we could do is get rid of one of the current jerseys and add a new jersey which would be based on a different forum or category each day.

While I do try on occasion, I'm not much for the TdV. I do find the category idea intriguing though.

Today is the last chance to wear a jersey

Wait, today is the last day! I want to win one. Ok, I will do it later. Good luck to all in these last days!!!

Well, today is my last chance to wear a blue, green, or yellow jersey... I guess. Before I wear a red jersey for a month. I wonder if I should go ahead and try to get another jersey or some more points just for fun. 

Davideo7 : If there is any jersey to get rid of, it should probably be blue because people will just mindlessly post to get their name on fire or whatnot and it gets out of control. I think we have had more posts in the 100s and even 200s in this competition than ever before. Plus a new record, and I predict it will get more extreme next TDV.

I think that idea is actually good because people will be more limited to one section for it to qualify, plus it can spark up activity for that forum. Maybe it is a good idea to take into further consideration for the next TDV....

I have been quiet this TdV, but I decided to try for blue and green today. Might as well go out on a good note.

Razor-987 : If we got rid of the Blue Jersey than technically we should get rid of the VCS since the Blue Jersey is basically the same as the VCS. I really don't want to discourage users from posting a lot though, I think we just need to be quick to hand out DQs and find ways to reduce the spam.
