I've been watching the forum since my return, and I've been quite sad to see it pushed below all the other rented forums. What happened?

I think most of us who were very active here became busy with life. Geeogree is an admin and just had a beautiful baby girl born into his family, Davideo7 is well... you know... busy running the site (lol), play4fun was recently hired as a global and also took on the never-ending job of a high school physics teacher, and pray75 (such an awesome guy!) has had other real life obligations which have held him captive.

I love all four of you guys... really do. But I also want to make a proposal: Add

as a mod. I haven't discussed this with him, so I hope he doesn't mind (do you?!), but I think he's had a lot to contribute to our little corner. I think he has the time and interest in pushing our forum forward. ^.^


If he's not interested or doesn't have the time, how about looking for someone else that does? Maybe A user of this, or even myself? Whoever it is, it'd have to be someone that has showed themselves to be impartial and someone who has in interest in the well-being of the Christian Conservatives forum.

And let's be honest.... there's a lot of cleaning up that can be done here.
Active threads don't even extend beyond the first page. :/

I honestly do not mind who you choose but I would like to volunteer. Unfortunately I have no modding experience but I am happy to learn since I have got to learn at some point. I find religion really interesting, though I class myself atheist. That really leads to my other problem, I am not christian, however like I previously said I find religion really interesting . 
From what I assume it will not matter what religion I am but if it is I am not concerned. I will just be an option, I am not dying for the role but I would certainly do it if you want me. I could actually enjoy something a little like this.

Guys, not to be rude, but I'm definitely not looking for volunteers.  For one, I do NOT own or even mod this forum.  NOBODY said there are positions available.  I simply wanted to ask the current mods what they thought.  Please do not volunteer, as there is no opening that I am aware of.  The last thing I need is for the current mods to deal with the headache of everyone wanting to apply.

I wouldn't mind the opinions of any other CURRENT mods (local or global) either.

I think you should change the second to last paragraph then, since that is how it came across to me. I also thought you modded it, I swear I saw your name on the forum page. We I must of been imagen or something, Sorry about that!

MechaMento : No no no.. it's not your fault and I apologize! I wanted to ask the current mods if there was anyone they would consider because I see this forum falling down the list every day and nobody seems to be taking care of it due to other obligations.  I don't have the right to even ask as I have no say in what goes on in this forum anymore.  LOL

It was just poorly worded and I should have made it more clear I was addressing the mods. I'm sorry for the mix up!

Singelli : I'm all for it. Life's been really difficult for me and I have actually been very disappointed that I haven't been able to come up with anything to generate more traffic here, nor have I even been able to keep up with my "Ask" thread because of this. I had big planned for Vizzed when I first joined and realized I loved the community, but life's gotten up in my face and I haven't exactly responded by snarling back. I think SoL@R would be perfect in replacing me if he chose to, and you would do well. I'm just kinda beat down and worn from everything that's happened.

Singelli : Technically, me and pray are the ones that are actually modding this forum. Geeo and David have their names on the mod list but they don't actually actively moderate this forum.

i actually approached Sol@r about it before pray75, but he said that he isn't very active on the forums so he doesn't think that he can mod it. I am more than happy to let him to be part of the list if his schedules changes so that he can be more active on here.

What about me?  *nudge nudge* I  really want to see this place liven up again, and I can make the time for it. It's near and dear to my heart, as you know.  ^.^

Since I'm being discussed in the third person, I thought I'd visit this thread personally (and of course I was summoned )

I have actually thought about this a while ago again since play4fun:  approached me the first time with this and I am now actually considering it.  There is only a few things that might disqualify me for this (or not).  I need you guys to help me out with this as this is the way I operate on this forum.  Oh what the heck, see this as my  "resume" for mod:

• I'm in a totally different time zone.  Server time now is 12:19 am and where I am now it's 7:27 am.  So it's about a 7 hour difference.  I thus cannot contribute / take part in "live" comps, activities, chats etc.
• I'm mostly active in the morning for about an hour from 7 am to 8 am (12 am to 1 am server time) and then sporadically throughout the day when I have some free time at work.  So it might be "too spaced out" as play4fun said.
• I can just mention that I do visit the site every day.  Christian Conservatives first and then whatever tickles my interest after that.  I rarely visit the site on weekends (family time you know)
• My age:  As some of you have noticed, I'm much older than the average guy / gal on this site (although I feel 15 years old ).  I might even be considered a senior citizen on these forums.  I don't know, but some younger folk might be put off by that and they might feel more comfortable replying / responding to someone a little younger or of the same age.  The flip side is, I have such a heart for the youth.  Although this is irrelevant for Christian Conservatives, I still play video games (although only certain ones) and I know more about it than you might think.  I also know a bit about guitars, music, movies, superheroes - shhhh! I'm promoting my youthful side here...  All in all, I have a bit more "life experience" and I would like to use that to contribute.  
• Finally and most importantly, the spiritual side of things.  I am a reborn Christian and I really do feel that I have so much to contribute to CC although time is always the factor.  I honestly do not want to sound arrogant or conditional when saying this, but IF I am given the opportunity to mod a Christian forum, I would like it to be / stay just that - a Christian forum and everything pertaining to Christianity.  I do know a bit about different religions (I make it my business to know) so I am willing and able to discuss that in a forum, but I will always bring it back to the Christian faith.  I consider the Bible to be the the divinely inspired, authoritative, trustworthy Word of God which I trust and believe wholeheartedly.  I am open to discuss anything, but I will always build my discussions on the Bible and will stand firm in doing so.  This might sometimes come across as arrogant or close minded, but it is the foundation of my life and a guideline that God has given us on how to live our lives. Basically I will give it to you straight, truthful and as accurate as possible, as it is in God's Word.  Doing it any other way, by trying to make compromises, is false and I will fail God, myself and I will do you a disservice.  I feel very strong about this and wouldn't have it any other way.

I realise this isn't a vote or volunteering or whatever, but I'm just putting it out there.  I will be available for this if you guys feel I'm up to it  Also, I do want to put Singelli forward for this as well.  Let's face it, women are just more creative and has got a lot more to say than guys.  That is the gospel truth.  So yeah, Singelli *big nudge*.

SoL@R :  I am taking back my own offer to be a mod.

However, I'm certainly glad you're willing to be one, and I read through your post. It's lovely. I don't see any issues with what you've said, and I've love it if you took up mod-ship here.    Since play4fun said he'd be accepting of you being a mod here..... maybe we can make that happen?
