I think Harvey will be like Clay Buchholz when he had this TJ (or whatever it was). He'll sit out a year to get his arm back and come back strong. Anyway, it is a happy day in Red Sox Nation. After the Rays won many important games, Boston romped their way to a 12-2 win. This clears all worries about my ream in the postseason. Of course, Tampa Bay will win one, maybe two, but I have a really good feeling that Boston's ballclub will get a chance to be the AL champs, if not go all the way.

I'm really glad Atlanta was able to take a game at home. If not, it would be game over. Today, Boston took game 2 of their ALDS 6-4. It didn't feel any different than a regular season game. The way the Red Sox played was as usual. David Ortiz was able to hit not just one, but TWO home runs tonight, which was a great sign that his career isn't over yet. Funny thing is that the Red Sox left-handed batters in the lineup tonight were combined .185 against Price before tonight, but they hit the Rays hard tonight.

I have a feeling Liriano is going to shut down the Cardinals today.

Pirates won again. I am very happy to hear that. They now lead the best of 5 series 2-1 and have 2 games to advance to the ALCS. On the other hand, the braves and dodgers had an ugly first few innings, before Atlanta's offense dried up and LAs didnt. Now the braves are 1 game from being eliminated.

Year after year, the braves put out a great team, but just cant get it done. They won a world series, but should have won a few more with those teams they had. Smoltz, Glavine, Maddux; maybe the best 1, 2, 3 pitching staff I since I was born.

Currently the Cardinals and Pirates are heading into game 4 with the pirates owning a 2-1 lead. I really do want the cardinals to advance. I know the Pirates have been waiting a long time for this moment, but  I think Carlos Beltran really dereves a World Series Ring after all that's happend to him.

Oakland has a good chance to send the Tigers packing in Detroit. The A's hold a 1-0 lead in the early stages of game 4. I think both Oakland and Boston will win tonight and advance to the ALCS.

Chewedmint :

My focus is on the Pirates advancing (especially since Atlanta lost).

I would like to see a Pirates vs As world series.

Ill be pissed if Boston wins.

bobq : I would like to see a Pirates vs A's world series as well. I've always thought the Rays are an overrated team and I don't think they have much of a chance to beat Boston in two consecutive games. However, as long as the Pirates/Cardinals wipe the floor with the Dodgers, I'll be content.

Boston has won several major sports in recent years. They have been spoiled.

Celtics, Patriots, Bruins, Red Sox.

They all have had championships in the past 10 years.

I agree, that's why I said I would like to see the A's in the World Series, but it's going to be tough to beat the Red Sox in a 7 game series. And, yes, I am prematurely writing off the Rays and Tigers.

As for the Dodgers, I just flat out don't like them. Low class team, low class fans, they don't deserve to be in the World Series. The Pirates fans have been waiting for two decades for a winning record, let alone a playoff berth or WS title. I would love to see them beat a team has has 3x their payroll.

The Tigers made it to the ALCS. I guess I am a bit happy for them, but I would have prefered for the A's to go because they had not really had this much sucess in a few years.

zanderlex :

Youre talking out your ass right now. I am not surprised either. You are just saying stuff to improve your post count for the tour de vizzed. If you even payed attention, you would have known that the series is tied 2-2 and the winner will be determined tomorrow night. Nice try though, but not really.

Phew, I was hoping the A's hadn't been eliminated, but I was pretty sure they weren't. Anyway, guess what team has gone worst to first and into the ALCS? Wait for it........... The Boston Red Sox! Last night down in St. Pete, the Rays used up their bullpen in one game after Matt Moore went 1+. David Price even was warming up while Koji Uehara shut down Tampa Bay. Jake Peavy pitched wonderfully for the Red Sox, and the Yale graduate Craig Breslow was absolutely dominant in the ousting of the Rays. I'm hoping the A's will make the ALCS, so it will be a Red Sox series.

I was wondering why Joe Madden decided to use his entire bullpen in yesterday's game. It would have been funny if the Rays had tied the game up in the bottom of the 9th, since they had no one left in the bullpen.

The four teams in the playoffs are the Tigers, Cardinals, Red Sox, and Dodgers. Of these four, I really want to see the Cardinals play the red Sox in the World Series. Of those two, I would want to see the cardinals win it all this year.

The cardinals are now leading the NLCS 2-0 after a 1-0 win today and the score is 0-0 during the bottom of the 2nd inning of the first ALCS game.

Well, Verlander pitched amazing in game 5. Hope he can keep it up against the Red Sox. Hopefully we win at least one of the first two games in Boston, and go home at least tied 1-1. And Miggy looks a little bit better than he did last series. Hope he can be a factor in this series. Although Jackson HAS to move down in the lineup. I think he's had two hits in the playoffs, and 8 strikeouts at least. He's hurting the team too much to be the lead-off hitter.

I think our best chance to win this series is our starting pitching. We seem to have the better starting staff. If we get to their starters quickly, hopefully our starters can hold them off for the rest of the game. Although the patience of the Sox is not good for us at all. If our starters are out quick, our bullpen will have to pick it up.

patar4097 : Do you happen to be watching the game??? IT IS EPIC!!!
Anibal Sanchez has just became the second pitcher in MLB history to throw 4 STRIKEOUTS in one inning during the postseason (70 in total) He now has 10 over 5 hitless innings.

he best thing the jays could do is pick up Dusty Baker for the coaching staff. He will be a million times better than Gibbons. It is not often that a guy like Dusty Baker is available to be added to your coaching staff. This is a no brainer move to me.
