I think both count. You can't really like a person unless both appeal to you. If you think you can like someone 100% based on the inside alone, you're either Jesus or a liar.

I'm going to take a new perspective in this in case someone hasn't brought it up yet. For me, the outside doesn't include physical features, but rather things like hobbies, interests and so on. The inside is what you really are when stripped off of everything you surround yourself with, family, friends, belongings, you get the picture. For instance, me playing video games is a huge part of me and I talk about them constantly , but it belongs to the outside of the so called core named me! Even though these outside things are very important to us I still think that inside features are what really matter.

And because this conversation is swinging a bit on the dating side, I'd still think that what's inside is what truly matters when thinking about partners. I've recently had an epiphany about this matter, since before I always thought it's most important that my significant other is as similar to me regarding hobbies and so on, but if you truly find someone who is on the same level with you, none of these including life situations matter in the end. And I think they shouldn't matter too much in the first place!

I think that the inside is what you should mainly look for in a person, if they have a nice personality and good morals and are just a fun person to be around in general, then I would consider that to be much more important than just a nice outside. As great as it is to meet someone beautiful, if their personality isn't good or they are a nasty person, then I don't consider them worth my time. I would say about 60-65% should be personality based, and a nice outside is just a bonus. 

I would like to be able to have a conversation or discuss pending or serious topics with someone and also feel comfortable talking to them, I find that to be a very important factor in finding the right person for you. I could care less if she was drop dead gorgeous, but had a mean personality, then she just isn't worth my time. It really depends on the person though, but for me I would say they are almost even in importance, but I would lean more towards inside personally. All I can say is that balance is important and that if they are appealing to you, then that is all that matters... 

I don't care whats on the outside only whats in the inside.

Eh, definitely at least a little bit of both. I am not a great person on the inside or outside, let us consider me "average". Being an average person, I would like someone else to be at least average on the inside and the outside. Looks, activities, and interests being part of the outside. The inside being more of personal character, emotions, and intelligence. The outside causes you to approach the other person, the inside keeps you there. You have to have both, and so, for me at least, both the inside and the outside count.
