Gen 1 Pokemon blue

Why, for starter I was new to the game, and it was the first pokeball to walk up to.

Kanto: Bulbasaur, he is the easiest Pokémon based on advantages against gym leaders, but I like Squirtle and Charmander more than Bulbasaur

Johto: Totodile, it's cute at first but grows into a beast. He was pretty useful against all gym leaders in Johto.

Hoenn: Mudkip, the thing is darn cute and it's a mud fish! That's pretty unique. Very useful for the first, third and fourth gym too.

Sinnoh:  Chimchar, another cute darling at first and a dangerous rough guy later one. Also the big reason how I was able to defeat Fantina in Platinum (kept using revives on the guy XD).

I don't have games from Gen. 5 and 6.

Gen 1) squirtle- charmander was over-rated, and I don't like bulbasaur. Plus, Blastoise looks badass
Gen 2) totodile- I like crocodiles, and its final evolution kicks ass.
Gen 3) torchic- blaziken is my favorite final evo starter, and fire-fighting typing is great
Gen 4) piplup- penguins are my favorited animal.
Gen 5) snivy- I had to use a grass starter, and snakes are really cool too.
Gen 6) froakie- Before the game was released, there was a picture of Greninja, froakie' final evolution. I had to get froakie.

Gen 1 - Bulbasaur I love Grass types, and the amount of status moves that Bulbasaur gets is awesome. It's the Pokémon that I picked when I played Pokémon Blue for the first time.

Gen 2 - Totodile It's a little blue dinosaur. I love the design, and it was very good when I played Pokémon Crystal. I liked how it was the last starter to get to the 1st evolution, but the first one to reach the 2nd evolution ^^

Gen 3 - Mudkip I HERD U LIEK MUDKIPZ

Gen 4 - Turtwig When I saw how it's last evolution looked, I was like: "That thing is AWESOME. Give it to me!". I love it's typing, and I think that Turtwig is cute actually ^^

Gen 5 - Snivy Take a look at Snivy. Now look at your starter. Now look back to the Snivy. Snivy is a bad ass. And your starter isn't a Snivy. Snivy is awesome.

Gen 6 - Chespin I LOVE Chesnaught. It's not dominant in competitive like Greninja, but it's better than Delphox. It's design is awesome too.

1. Squirtle: Any other day of the week I would've said Charmander, but after a recent play through of Firered I've gotta say, WATER RULZ! Mega Hydro Pump all the way!

2. Cyndaquil: He's an adorable shrew who turns into a cool ferret of some sort and then a LORD OF VOLCANO'S. My typhlosion stuck with me for a long time (before some dude offered me a Scizor and turns out it had a FREAKING MODEST NATURE!!! Then I go confessing to Jesse I want to borrow a metal coat but he never let's me and then HE GOES AND GETS ONE TO START BRAGGING ABOUT HIS 27th PERFECTLY STEROID INJECTED POKEMON...) and with the high speed he can launch an eruption as soon as he comes out.

3. So Torchic is given to everyone along with a mega stone for Blaziken while all the other starters bite the dust? Screw you, I have Sceptile. Treeko was pretty much the only appealing grass type to me. Every other had defense up the butt and pathetic Solar Beam, but Sceptile just goes out and starts slashing at foes and summoning tornados. Of leaves. Just take that in, leaves doing collateral damage on a giant turtle tank. That shows power.

4. I never liked 4th gen, the dull watery region, lack-luster music, half the new pokemon being new evolutions expanding on previous generations, and most of all... the starters. None of them look as appealing as the others, I mean Chimchar defined the incoming fire-fighting spree, and not to mention... team flare looks stupid. Irrelevant you say?

So yeah, you could give me any of them and it wouldn't matter as much. Torterra does look a bit cool, but as I said, defensive grass type.

5. Oshawott is adorable. Dewott looks awesome. Samurott looks like a legendary pokemon. Yeah, dem water starters. Dewott learns razorshell pretty early on, and that's basically the equivalent of Grovyle's Leaf Blade, which was indeed familiar too me. Also Hydro Pump and Megahorn, nuff said.

6. This gen really outdid it with starters. Chesnaught has tons of defense, but also high attack, meaning he's basically a football player. Oh, and while they got rid of fire/fighting, grass types now want in... flying hurts... Speaking of fighting, I almost died inside when I saw Fennekin using Flare Punch, quite on the contrary it became psychic, which is also unique. But amazingly, what we all saw and the pathetic, French controversial, lame water frog soon became a favorite of the majority. Greninja is a fast striker, and with protean can be any type you want.
Spoiler:
He's even in SSB4, SSB4 don't lie about whose cool...

Generation 1:Charmander.Mostly because I like fire pokemon.

Generation 3:Treecko.I chose treecko because he made a bigger impact on me than torchic and mudkip.
Generation 4:Chimchar.I chose chimchar because unlike the other fire starters it became my favourite pokemon and it was useful in diamond and pearl which had a lack of fire types.
Generation 5:Tepig.I chose Tepig because he was fire type and it is good competitive battles.
Generation 6:Fennekin.I chose Fennekin since he was a fire type but also because he had a good typing and a nice move pool.

Gen 1
Squirtle
It's powerful and has bangin' defense as Blastoise. It was also the starter I chose the first time I beat FireRed.

Gen 2
Cyndaquil!
Cyndaquil is my favorite starter of all time, one of my favorite Pokemon, and evolves into another of my favorites, Typhlosion. If I got to pick a Pokemon to have in real life, I would most definitely choose Cyndaquil without thinking twice.

Gen 3
Torchic
I just love Blaziken and it's powerful.

Gen 4
Turtwig
I think that Torterra is so cool. It has great power and it's just an all-around awesome Pokemon. Grass-Ground type. Awesome type combination.

Gen 5
Oshawott
Samurott is one of my favorite final starter evolutions and Oshawott is the only starter I've been able to beat the Unova league with. More than that, I love Dewott. I usually don't like the second stage of starters as much as the first and third.

Gen 6
Fennekin
Fennekin is adorable, I love Delphox, I love using the Fire-Psychic combination and I love using the Psychic itself since I normally don't use Psychic types. I also am really attached to my Delphox from Pokemon X.

Gen 1 - Charmander - I'm a sucker for fire types. Plus Charizard is my second favorite Pokémon, and the first Pokémon I got to the prestigious level 100.

Gen 2 - Cyndaquil - A fire type again. Plus, I love Typhlosion; I'd have it on my team any day.

Gen 3 - Torchic - Yet another fire type...but Blaziken is awesome! Its Blaze Kick is very reliable and I wish they didn't give Blaze Kick to any other Pokémon.

Gen 4 - Piplup - First starter that wasn't a fire type. Empoleon is awesome as well. (Honestly, I didn't like the other starters in Gen 4)

Gen 5 - Snivy - This is one of the very few Grass-Type Pokémon I actually like.

Gen 6 - Froakie - Greninja is awesome! It's very fast and will usually hit first.

Gen 1
Bulbasaur. I don't really remember the reasoning. I had leaf green, so it just seemed to fit.

Gen 2
Totodile, because he's a freaking dinosaur crocodile. Also, I like water starters a lot.

Gen 3
Mudkip. Probably not a very smart choice, as most of the Hoenn region has water types...I don't know why I chose it, probably again because I love water type starters

Gen 4. Piplup. Again,I just like water starters. *shrugs*

I haven't played gen 4 or 5 yet, but I plan to in the future

Generation 1: Squirtle

I picked Squirtle because Blastoise has really good defenses and it clearly has an advantage over the other two because it can ice beam Venusaur, and just about any powerful water type move gets Charizard.

Generation 2: Totodile

It was a close call between cyndaquil and totodile, but in the end I picked water again, plus he looks amazing as Feraligatr.

Generation 3: Torchic

I finally tried a fire type for a change, he is a really good pokemon as Blaziken and his stats are pretty solid. Swampert is really good too though, it would've been my 2nd pick.

Generation 4: Piplup

Out of the three, Empoleon was the best in my opinion, Torterra has a ton of weaknesses plus it was slow, and Infernape was decent but it had poor defenses. Even though Empoleon is pretty slow, it has other benefits like its unique typing.

Generation 5: Snivy

I wanted to try a grass type for a change, plus its final evolution looked pretty cool to me. All of the gen 5 starters were pretty cool though.

Generation 6: Froakie

This needs no explanation, timid nature+ protean = ultimate destruction and victory, enough said XD

So as you can see, I prefer water types, hence why I picked them 4 out of 6 gens.

Gen 1: Charmander

Reasoning - Once Charmander fully evolves into Charizard, it becomes Fire/Fighting. Charizard is good for getting somewhere faster as opposed to walking everywhere. Charizard, also, has major fire power to use against its opponents. So, I would use that fire power to burn my way to victory.

Gen 2: Totodile

Reasoning - I love the way Totodile looks. Totodile is on cool looking Pokemon. Just don't underestimate it's size and power. Like the saying goes,"Big things come in small packages." Especially if you fully evolved Totodile into a Feraligatr. The big-jawed beast, known as Feraligatr, will really lay its jaws on the line in a battle. Don't get in the way of it's massive jaws or else your a goner.

Gen 3: Torchic

Reasoning - I only chose Torchic because of when it becomes the Fire/Fighting Blaziken. Blaziken's Blaze Kick is a force to be reckoned with combined with its Blaze ability. Also, I love how Blaziken's mega evolution looks. Mega Blaziken is so AWESOME!!!!!

Gen 4: Chimchar

Reasoning - I LOVE Infernape. Speed and Power in one. Infernape is a monkey of bad temper (not to get mixed up with Primeape). I have nothing to say except I LOVE INFERAPE!!!!!

Gen 5: Snivy

Reasoning - I like Snivy because it is an awesome little guy. I love when it evolves into Serperior though because it looks just so royal. Serperior is just a cool Pokemon.

Gen 6: Fennekin

Reasoning - OMG I love Fennekin. It is too cute. I like it's fully evolved Delphox but, I wouldn't want to let my Fennekin evolve. I think it's cute just the way it is.

Well, I have said what I had to say.
