Iv played the original but none of its expansions where you play as different characters, such as barny.
Once was enough.
Before that i bought the orange box with no intention of trying half life.
But i eventually become so bored that i did.
It got progressively better.
2 was fun.
Expansion 1 was good.
2 even better.
Valve has taken a stupid amount of time to make part 3. Its really indefensible.

Brigand :
I wouldnt bother with 1.
I played it purely for the plot, I Didnt find it fun.

Weylin : Yes, I can say that too, Half Life has a lot of jump-crounch parts but Half Life 2 doesn't have...

And yes, there were so many hard parts to pass on! I remember how many hours I spent on beating The Tentacles!

About Half Life 2, I sent hours to find out how to get the cannon from episode two and to find out how to exit the Cytadel from episode one.

One more thing I have to say, awesome graphics!!

Sorinkun : That beaked tentacle monster was the absolute worst.
You had to keep using grenades to divert its attention, and often times it would only hold its attention for a second before it turns around and basically insta-kills you. Man, I really hated that stage.

Weylin : Another hard level was "Power Up" where Gordon needs to beat Gargantua using electricity.

Yup, I have played HL1. I thought the game was pretty good, although the main reason I bought it was the mods. And I have 2 versions of the game, the Steam and WON versions. And there are definitely differences between them. The WON version has red book audio for its music (If you want to listen to the music just put the game in your cd player), it has no anti aliasing (Although I can't confirm it as of right now), it has a different menu, it has faster loading times, and it uses the WON multiplayer server which has since been shut down but then a few years later got a replacement called WON2. The Steam version has music stored as files, it has anti aliasing, uses the Steam servers, and it has a vastly simplified menu. I'd recommend both versions though.

Tempest 2000 is like Polybius. But better.
