When I was 6 I first played Kirby's Return to Dreamland, Pokemon Gold, and one of the Adventure Island games. Even though I was horrible, I enjoyed them immensely. Also, I watched my dad play games such as Starcraft, Age of Empires, Lords of the Realm, and NHL 2000, and even though I didn't play most of those games, they got me interested in games.

I was 4 years old when a friend of the family's gave us a NES and 20 games, to boot.  After I got a Nintendo 64, I went around and sold the Nintendo and the games for $10 (I think?).  Worst. Decision. Ever.  I regret that to this day.

I was maybe 4 or 5 when I started playing games consciously, and my first being Super Mario 64 or Goldeneye. However I've played games before then (maybe Crash Bandicoot or some others on PSX) maybe when I was 3, just not old enough to have actually sat down and played them. I probably was just screwing around.

My older brother and sister had an NES, a Genesis, and an N64, but I wasn't allowed to actually play on them until I was around 3 or 4. I've been interested in them since I was 2, though. The first game I ever played was either Banjo Kazooie or Ocarina of Time, both of which got stolen. Ocarina of Time was what really got me started on games and actually taught me how to read.

I was about 4 years old when I started. I watched my dad play video games on the NES and SNES, and I got a purple gameboy color kinda took off from there. I don't remember all that I played but I do remember Super Mario bros, Super Mario land, Mario world and Yoshi's Island. The last one was the first game I played all the way through!
