TMNT - Hyperstone Heist Review - OVERALL - 10
NOTE: This game is based on an old episode of the original cartoon show.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - The Hyperstone Heist on the Genesis is a wonderful game to play. I used to play all the TMNT arcades as a kid so finding this was a treat. This game (released on the SNES) is very similar to all the other TMNT beat em' ups of the time. You fight the FOOT CLAN, robots, bosses, and eventually Shredder. This game gets a 10 out of 10.
Graphics - 7
The graphics are great for an old game. Just like the old arcade games. The effects are good, too. Everything is really crisp and clear.
Sound - 8
The sound is great. The music is from the TV shows and old games. The sound effects are outstanding, the punching and kicking just sound so good and it sure sounds like it would fit in this game.
Addictiveness - 8
Like I said, the game is fun for me. This game can be addicting because it's Turtles, and you just have a whole lot of fun beating up the baddies.
Story - 10
There is a lot of story here. It is actually based on an old TV episode. Shredder hijacks airwaves and says that this was a demonstration from the power of Dimension X. While he has the Hyperstone in his possession, he can now take over the world. As turtles you must now fight to stop him.
Depth - 8
Because of the awesome story, this game has a lot to offer. There is multiplayer capability, and the best part about this is that you can choose one of the four turtles. There are also items in the games that you can get, such as pizza for health, and another one that looks like pizza, but is a special move where you can spin repeatedly and attack a lot of enemies.
Difficulty - 6
The game can be difficult, but probably a little bit easier than the arcade versions of Turtles. It's best to train yourself on EASY mode before starting on the higher difficulty levels.
Overall, this is a fun, classic, challenging, and slightly addicting game. Play it NOW!
