Crazy Li : Yeah, that was a great controller. The official RGR controller would probably be a mix between a Playstation controller and an Xbox 360 controller because it'd need the extra buttons for systems that need them and it'd need to have dual analog for the systems that need them (like N64 for example).

MegaRevolution1 : What ever happened to the idea? I just never got the budget. Any time the site budget built up, either I ended up investing it into the RGR Plugin or various site issues caused me to have to spend it.

JigSaw : Yeah there are enough mobile devices that use this site that it'd probably be worth for me looking into that.

Crazy Li : You never played a Saturn? Great system, even if it failed compared to the Playstation. I really wish there was a good open source emulator for Sega Saturn because so many people have never played it and I would love to allow users of this site to experience what so many people missed out on.

Play Sega actually gives out a free controller for users who sign up yearly. I'm not sure if their service is still available but you can still get their controllers on places like ebay. The Play Sega controller is made by Sega and it's based on the Sega Saturn controller. Oh, and it's USB.

Speaking of Sega Saturn controllers, I thought you'd find this one interesting. I'm not sure which Sega Saturn games supported it (I know for sure NiGHTS did) but I remember owning one when I was younger and I actually just bought it again recently. It looks awkward but it's pretty cool that Sega Saturn had a controller with an analog stick. It resembles and feels like a Dreamcast controller and I'm sure Sega based the Dreamcast controller somewhat off of that.

ace3llard : The thing is, would users be willing to buy it from vizzed when they can get it a lot cheaper somewhere else. Plus a lot of parents would be less likely to trust vizzed compared to amazon or ebay. I would love doing that but I just don't see it working out.

Davideo7 : So that Play Sega one is really official? I've been wary of ones that don't look like the original, color included. I heard some Asian company was making USB Saturn controllers but they were VERY poor knockoffs that broke within days of use and the buttons never responded well. I do want something of real quality. I've heard the official Saturn controllers had some of the best button response you could find in a controller.

We could all just sell one of our non vital organs like a kidney...  That'd make a lot of money...

apart from that i don't see a viable way unless you can generate more income based on views and stuff..

Crazy Li : I'm not sure what the quality is but it's something made by Sega since Play Sega is a Sega site. I guess you'd have to look into it.

Davideo7 : Thanks for the info either way. For $8 I think I can take a gamble on it. I might also buy the one Mega linked that looked like an actual controller from the Saturn days. I'll see which one performs better.

I do agree that you'll need a more modern controller for Vizzed though... analog sticks are kinda necessary. If you could throw two sticks onto that Saturn one though, you'd be in business.

Crazy Li : The one Mega linked was an actual Sega Saturn controller so you'd need something like this to hook it up to your computer.

One thing nice about the Saturn controller that the Playstation and Xbox 360 controller doesn't have is the 2 additional buttons to the very right, those are great for fighting games.

If there are going to be more ads or other pop-up things or anything like that I think they should be targeted almost exclusively to the RGR. They are the major users of bandwidth on the site so their visits should fund more of the site than the forum users. I think it's only fair since they are the ones costing the most.

Lets try and make sure this new income system is optional. There are thousands of games and sites that require paid membership or even a monthly fee to get ahead and hold higher position. The idea of sold products does sound like a fairly reasonable idea. While I myself rarely, if ever buy stuff from game sites, there are some people who do.
