I was trying to play Pokemon Diamond, and I think there's a glitch. The game started very strangley with a tree and an electric monster? Then, as a talking turtle gave me some kind of companion, the screen went white and froze. Am I the only one this happens to?

If you are talking about the game in the GBC game room, thats actually a hack of a game called "Keitai Denjuu Telefang" which was made back in 2000, before they even thought about making Pokemon Diamond/Pearl.
Its not Pokemon Diamond but a game that was edited to be like a Pokemon game to draw attention to it.
The fact that its named the same as the new generation game is coincedence.
It is supposed to look like that yes, the freezing thing must have been a glitch though.

Yeah its called a hack, what some people (not Nintendo, people like you and me) do is take another game and modify it to look a little or alot like something different.
I think I have seen maybe 2 hacks that were called Pokemon Diamond.
Remember, these were made back just after Crystal was released, so the hacker didn't know Nintendo/GameFreak would use the name in the future.
Who knows, maybe they saw the hack and went hey thats a good name for a real game, and used it

There is indeed a group working on making this into proper english.
Now this will be the Keitai Denjuu Telefang game as it should be in english, not a Pokemon hack but the full original game.
I'm still looking into it, but at the least I might be able to get a patch thats at 75% at least (fingers crossed)

Though I also found a patch that fixes up text and stuff in the Diamond hack too.
