My favorite antagonist is probably Fuhrer King Bradley from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. I didn't really like him in the first show. But in the second show, I thought he was pretty amazing at fighting, and when he was acting good, he was definitely an interesting character, giving Ed melons and stuff like that, haha.

I will go with Professor Moriarty from Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. He was able to start a war without even doing anything himself, the guy was way more than just an evil genius.

Why: He's so bad ass and the only person that is at equals with him is Cloud. Honestly, he was going to summon a Meteor (Funny, because FF8 has a Spell Meteor and its kind of sad. LOL)  from space and send it crashing into Earth to absorb the Life stream and become that much more stronger. I mean, not even Cloud could summon a Meteor. THAT IS BADASSED!

Gosh...uhm...probably Caine Soren from the Gone series. Over the books, his character develops greatly. And in the end, he has to choose between the love of his life. Or saving innocent children. He's a great antagonist.

I love Moriarty from BBC's Sherlock because he's just so BAD! Unabashedly, wonderfully, horribly bad! Moriarty is a genius, and he just has so much attitude! It's fabulous! He's actually really good at what he does, (or he was...) and he's absolutely hysterical as well as brilliant! He's crazy! And I love the way he interacts with Sherlock! It's just so great. I haven't gotten to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's original portrayal of him yet in my reading of the book, but I'm super excited to see how he wrote him.
I do get a bit too excited about my fandoms sometimes. So sorry you had to read that.
