I'm gonna cause a lot of distress and anguish here; I'm not a fan of Pokémon!

I don't see the whole appeal of buying every new game just to do the same things over and over again - Capturing every Pokémon and going for 100%, It's the same thing in every main Pokémon game and there's no major plot to it (unlike in other repetitive games like Crash Bandicoot, Final Fantasy, Spyro the Dragon, etc etc).
Saying all that, I HAVE played Pokémon (also watched people play) and I can see why people continue to buy the game - It's fun, and the battling with friends is something that makes the Pokémon games stand out (and the big tournaments, and prizes, you can win too for being the best [I went to the Winter Nintendo Streetpass UK  Pokémon Tournament in London last year, supporting my local players, and the whole day, despite the derping around and getting lost, was amazing]) 

Also looking at Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, it gave me the biggest desire to start playing Pokémon - but I refused to give in, mainly because money reasons.

So yeah, I'm not a fan of Pokémon but I wouldn't knock it and shell out my dislike for it without giving praise for the creators giving everyone something fun to play.

Heh, then I guess you're like me or something, I'm not a fan of pokemon.
But like I said in my previous post, people who says that it's not a complex/great RPG are wrong (I've play RPGs games like the 7th saga, Final fantasy, kingdom hearts, and then I get owned by a gym leader, and then comes my brother and beats him with less pokemons and weaker ones and beat him), the battle mechanics are more complex than you think, and to me.....that gives some charm to pokemon.

I used to love pokemon it has been many years since I watched it. I think they are out of hand there are just to many pokmon now and it is just the same thing over and over again the only thing that has changed are the pokemon it is not as good as it used to be but that is just me.

I like the game itself, but I don't like the fact that there is a new game or version coming out every year, and even if that is acceptable the problem is that the new game is not really all that different maybe a "new" story that can be repetitive or more pokemon, but I think that they should wait more for a different release of each game so that they can let the people enjoy it, I used to buy every pokemon game but after pokemon black and white 2 I just gave up I said "What is the point of a new version with the same name and almost same plot" well I think that they should wait at least a little longer if they are going to release a new game. I also think that they should bring the game to a platform with more capacity like the Wii U and actually make a game like the one's in DS, I remember Pokemon Battle Revolution the graphics were amazing for that game and I have been yearning for a pokemon with those type of graphics ever since, with the capacity of the Wii U I think a gorgeous pokemon game could be made, I mean I get all the portable themes that Nintendo is trying to portrait but I think that they could make a really neat Pokemon experience for a console. Besides that I still love pokemon I have the gameboy emulator for my ipod and I have a bunch of pokemon games there that I can play when I have time. 

I love pokemon it is my fav game in the world the reason I like it so much is because I was an only child and had to go to my grandma's everyday in the summer and playing pokemon was the first thing I looked forward to every day of summer

I love Pokémon because its a fun and strategic game that is pretty much most of my childhood. Its amazing to just sit down and play a game and get sucked into so much you forget what is happening. I have played it since Pokémon diamond when I was about five year old.

I won't say that I hate Pokemon. I do not love it either. I guess you could just call me your casual fan. 

Sorry, that'll have to be a no. I don't get it, how can a game with no new additions besides new pokemon be so popular after so long? I also couldn't get into the gameplay, but then, i hate most RPG'S.

This is a complicated topic for me. I love it, but only generations 1-5. I love the pokemon games, but when they came out with generation 6, it was over for me. Unless they can rebound with this next game, I will still love pokemon, but will have lost faith in them.

I love all Pokémon, but my favorite is the cradily, but honestly, Gen 5 had the over all best Pokémon, so yeah I love Pokémon and I'm a die hard fan

I don't hate Pokemon at all. But I wouldn't really say that I am a huge fan of it either. I feel like I'm in the middle of it when it comes to Pokemon. I am basically the guy that enjoys the games, but wouldn't buy the other stuff that comes with it.

Pokemon is my life. Without Pokemon, what would I do? I love Pokemon so much that I would love to just vanish into the world of Pokemon. When I vanish into the Pokemon world, I would start my journey. My first starter Pokemon would be either Chimchar or Fennekin. I choose Chimchar because it's final evolution is one of my favorites. Infernape is a monkey with a bad temper, which would suit me well. Me and Infernape both have a bad temper. On the other hand, I would choose Fennekin because I think Fennekin is too cute. I would not let it evolve because i don't want that cuteness to go away.

I still love Pokemon. It's surprisingly deep, and very complex. There's tons to do and I feel like everyone should really delve into all the game has to offer before judging it. There's over 718 Pokemon now and tons of games that span multiple regions. I loved it as a little kid and I love it now, I really feel no shame in saying that I really enjoy it. It still holds up.

Well, I've been playing Pokémon SoulSilver the past few days. Last time I played it was last year, so I started a brand new game. I don't mind the Pokémon games, I've played a number of them. The problem is that I've never finished a Pokémon game because I start getting bored with them. You know, battling over and over, doing the same thing again and again. So knowing me, it'll probably be another week or two before I put the game down and move onto another that's not so repetitive.

I love Pokémon! The concept is fun to me and I just like it as a whole. Though I will admit that after a while the game play gets repetitive and I take breaks sometimes.

lijahboy : Pokemon is an amazing RPGS strategic series, but the storyline is getting too repetitive. You raise, and train your Pokemon to the top. It also includes friendship, Pokemon are our partners. If someone is a fan of RPG, this series is a must. You learn intense new moves as your Pokemon levels up. Pokemon is great!!
