I've always liked "In Christ alone" sung by Peter Furler and the Newsboys. I also really enjoy "O Praise Him" by the David Crowder band. They are the very few songs I actually listen to because of the lyrics.

Okay, so I finally got to go through all these suggestions. Thank you to EVERYONE.  I'm really enjoying increasing my knowledge on Christian music and expanding my playlist.

If the song you are talking is the one that Brigand linked, I didn't even remember that being in the Titanic.  Of course, I only ever watched the movie once anyways, and didn't really like it. haha.  So my memory of the film is quite incomplete    Not sure if I have any songs like that, but it sounds like an older church hymn.  I probably have some  of those stashed away somewhere, but I'm not sure if they'd be to your taste.  Most of the stuff I listen to has a bit of a beat to it.

I find that the Byzantine tradition of hymns have a sort of universal appeal.  Of the Byzantine Hymns, I find Psalm 118 in the 5th Tone have a very driving and uplifting melody.  If there is one issue I have with the English translation is the lyric "In my distress I called upon the lord, and he put me in a large place," a more poetic reading of the source would be "set me free."

Keep up the submissions!  My playlist is almost at 100 songs, and it truly helps me get through many afternoons.  Nothing lifts me higher, than singing praises to God.  I recently discovered the song Jesus Paid it All. The bridge especially gets to me.

God is amazing! Let's continue to remember that in all we do.  God is SO good.  Never doubt it!
