Crazy Li : I kind of have the same problem as you, but for me somehow I have problems finding threads to post, if I remember right, my limit for the Green Jersey is 15+ or something.

Seishiro Leonhart : Finding threads to post in is another problem all together. That tends to limit my overall post count as well. I'm not the type to go and necropost (basically bumping up threads that have had no replies in months) just to raise my post count. I pretty much only respond to old threads if someone else has already bumped it recently. Almost all the threads I enter are found via the "New Posts" area. This is my personal method of keeping myself honest and not just bumping up any and everything for the sake of the contest. I don't wanna win that bad.

Crazy Li :  I didn't know it was against the rules, or even frowned upon. I wasn't doing it to up my count, either.  Over the past two days, though I wasn't posting, I was reading.  I thought many of the old posts were interesting, and that's HONESTLY the reason I was posting in them.  It had nothing to do with post count, I promise!  

I've been told, so I bookmarked the ones I like so that I an just respond to one a day, which I told was acceptable.

I admit I happen to bumb old threads sometimes, but it's bcause I am on a hurry that I don't pay attention most of the time on the date of the last post, but as I were told, threads can now only be posted if they are on the first page of the forum.

Singelli : I never said it was against the rules. I just said that I personally won't do it. I find it to be silly to go into dead threads and revive them JUST to get posts in for the TDV. But this is just me and the way I feel. Everyone else should feel free to do whatever makes them happy. If you don't get DQ'd, then you're well within the rules and no one has an issues with what you're doing (and if they do, they'll likely let you know).

There are some old threads that actually caught my attention that were made before I was even a member at vizzed. That, I might post in because I wasn't here when it was first active, so what could I possibly do about it? Though I did see one recently that a moderate went and closed, which puts me in a rough spot... because I can't post in the closed one but it feels weird to remake the thread again since there's an existing thread there for the same thing as what I was gonna make essentially.

Crazy Li :  I was warned today and told it was against the rules, so I'll be disqualified tomorrow.  I honestly wasn't doing it to up my count though  If you look at the posts I made, almost all of them were lengthy because I honestly had an interest in the topic.  I would have responded to them even if I wasn't playing TdV.

You can ask the mod to re-open it?

Singelli : Really? It is against the rules? Wow... I never knew that either. I guess it's a good thing that I don't do that then?

Crazy Li :  Yeah, I was told if the last response is over a month old, leave it be.  It's okay to maybe bump one per day, but certainly not more than one.

Singelli : Ah, good to know. I'll keep that in mind.

My question is: if you had the same topic in mind and were gonna post a thread for it... would they prefer you actually make a new thread for the same idea rather than bumping up the old one and resuming conversation on it? That seems like an odd stance to me.

Way I see it, the general rule-of-thumb is that if it's not on the first page in most of the forums (basically, any exempting the spam forums like Crazy House), then it's best just to make a new topic because 99% of the time, posting in an existing one past the first page will be necro-posting. Which is against the board rules. If one does exist past the first page, it should be closed, which allows for a new thread to be made anyhow.

By the way, since you can manually change the number of threads that appear on each page - mine is set to "50". So. If it's not in the first fifty threads (and usually if its not in the first thirty), it's a necro-post. Make a new topic unless a mod gives you explicit permission to use the old one.

I'm sure there's a reason for it, but that sure seems like a way to invite clutter and ten copies of the same thread or topic.  Also, usually I have two or three pages, at least, of threads that aren't closed, but I'm in a rush and don't have time to check.  It's too bad.  There are an awful lot of good old threads that deserve to be necro'd

You guys should try to cut down on the irrelevant chatter in here. This is a place for scores and while a bit of conversation is expected, this is getting a bit ridiculous, and frankly a bit spammy.

I'd suggest going into the chatroom if you all want to converse among yourselves at length, since as far as I know, you're all old enough.

Cool! I noticed this morning when my name was colored in the red hue. I only got it because I tend to ramble on when I post, especially when I am talking about things I enjoy. I think the post that did it was when I was talking about all the pets I have taken care of over the years. Perhaps if I find other topics that bring out the writer in me, I will find myself with another T-Shirt. If not, oh well!

LOL I didn't expect myself to place again. I only wrote up 2 reviews and a chapter for my story, and only one of my reviews managed to get me 5th on red yesterday.

Although I have a hard time participating because of school and my job, I'm still going to eventually participate. Not sure when, but probably when there's some vacation eventually in December, but obviously, the next TDV starts in January, right after vacation.
