There was no warning.
It spread slowly, unnoticeable at first. The virus.
It made people lose all sentience. They shambled through the streets, crazy with bloodlust.
They hadn't become cannibals, they had become zombies.
You happened to live in an area that was widely affected before word ever got out that anything was going on.
You haven't left your house in a week.
Your wife hasn't returned home.
You are running out of food.
And there is constant scratching coming from your barricaded back door.
The only thing you have in the way of weaponry is an old claw hammer.
You've got a loaf of bread left and two apples.
An old backpack sits in the corner.
What do you do?

Stay fortified, and hope someone will find you.
