As the Mod Manager, I have loads of say when it comes down to making a decision on a hire.

Why?

Because again, as the Mod Manager, I mostly hire people I'm confident about. The people I'm most confident about are the people I know and observe. Few people realize this, but mod application time is the time I'm busiest. This is because while mod apps are going down, I get literally all the information I can that is publicly available on site about the user. Not only is it great to know who I'm hiring, but in most cases it's absolutely neccessary since a large number of the applicants I only know by name.

This mod application in particular has a lot of people I only know by name, so I'm doing loads more research than I normally do. It's tiring, but I want to make sure I hire the right people, even though it means next to nothing in real life. Yes, I take my job a little seriously, but since it's all I've got, I may as well do my best at it.

Anyway, I got off track. Generally, it's important that we know you before we hire you. That's how it works for all jobs. If they don't know you, they'll have a harder time hiring you. I for one would have trouble hiring you if I didn't know anything about you.

Well, if nothing else, it's always fun to see all of the people who are oblivious to the rules make a fool of themselves by thinking that they stand a chance. You want to be a mod, really? How can you help the site by enforcing rules and instructions, if you can't even follow simple ones yourself? Not to mention, of all places, a mod application. Epic fail.

By the way, Leggy, I understand how busy you are right now, but I wanted to mention that I am unsure if I answered the question about the user who was flaming another user. I cut and pasted a lot to an online spell-check before submitting my application final draft, so looking back I am not sure if I included my answer.
