But what about the teams already in the area. I was reading the article that was talking about moving the Coyotes to Hamilton and they were talking about how that encroaches on the fan base for the Canadiens and the Sabres.

Red Wings tied the series with the Ducks with a 6-3 win.

Coyotes should be moved back to where they belonged in the first place: Winnipeg. Give those fans their team back.

Carolina won a huge game today! They are now up 3-1 over the Boston Bruins.... I'm not sure what happened to Boston but they just can't seem to put anything together against this Carolina team. Sure they won the first game but they've scored only 3 goals in the last 3 games.... Carolina has scored 10 goals in those 3 games. I don't see Boston digging themselves out of this hole.


And Pittsburgh get back to even ground against Washington. Varlamov was not nearly as impressive this game as he has been. He let in a couple of weak goals. And Ovechkin didn't score this game which cut his streak off.

So every series except for Carolina is tied 2-2. More than likely we're going to see at least 1 or 2 7 game series among the 4.... who knows, Boston might rally and push a seventh game and we might see all going to 7.

And yeah, I'm a fan of Winnipeg over Hamilton.

Elara: Canadiens are in Montreal... so moving a team to Hamilton would encroach on Toronto.... I won't that against you though. I understand that American maps lose their accuracy for places outside the US

But yeah, I am shocked at how good Carolina is doing right now. What the hell happened?

I personally think it was the fact that they had a tough series against NJ and Boston got a sweep.

Boston figured they could walk all over Carolina too and Carolina is all hyped from taking a 7 game series and beating a team that most people didn't expect them to beat. Plus Boston didn't play for about a week.... no one has an entire week off during the regular season so it's probably really tough to go an whole week without playing and then try and get back into the groove....

Well, then you'd expect them to be rusty for a couple games rather than the whole series. I'm pretty sure that Boston is just choking.

possibly.... but I think it's less that they are rusty and more that they don't have the drive to win like Carolina does.... the wins came too easy for Boston so they aren't playing with as much effort as Carolina. Plus usually the under-dog in a series is the harder working one.

I guess it could come down to them choking... but either way they're done. I can't imagine them winning 3 straight.... although Carolina just did.... I guess it's possible

ooooh.... Pittsburgh just tied the game 2-2 within the first minute of the first period. This is going to be a good finish!

And that goal by Backstrom was awesome! Great pass and even better shot. I'll give props when they're due and that was a nice play.

3-3 going into OT!

Nice play to get the third goal.... I kind of hope that OT lasts for a while. I love watching games in OT.... they are full of tension... just waiting for the next goal. And the next goal could win the series for one of these teams. Pittsburgh scores and they can go home and win.... Washington wins and they have 2 more tries to win, 1 of them at home.

Uh oh.... it looks like Washington just took themselves out of this game! That's got to hurt to knock the puck into their own net like that. Pittsburgh got lucky we that goal... but sometimes luck is what wins a series....

either way I see Pittsburgh finishing this off at home and heading to the conference finals.

I'm noticing a connection in the OT losses this series...the puck deflects off of a Capitals player before going into the net. They are getting some horrible breaks here. Anyway, I still can see game 7, if the Caps can avoid hitting the puck into their own net

possibly.... but Pittsburgh has played so well in their own building compared to on the road.... I think Washington is done in 6. Of course they could get just as lucky as Pittsburgh did tonight and steal a win....

Washington doesn't need luck to win, they just need for the Pens not to have good luck. 2 of the Pens' wins were because of pucks deflected off of Caps players, and they can't count on that happening anymore. Caps in 7, after winning a grueling slugfest in Pittsburgh

What happened to not wanting the Penguins to go down because they beat the Flyers?

I think that the Penguins will be going all the way, even if it goes to game 7.

Oh, I don't care anymore. It's not that I want the Caps to win, it's just that I think they will. Overall, they've played better; bad deflections cost them 2 games



GAME UPDATE: I go upstairs to turn on my computer after the Pens go up 3-2. 10 minutes later, the Caps are up 4-3. How did that happen?

Game is tied again.... Crosby scored with a nice pass to himself....

Looks like this game is also going to go down to the wire....

and since I forgot about this post.... OT! but it was a close stretch there at the end when Washington took a slashing penalty with 2 minutes left....

Crosby, like him or not, is one of the best the NHL has to offer. Not every player is going to be an obscene physical force. Crosby has talent and skill; whether or no he gets involved in physical play is beside the point. If the Penguins beat the Capitals, all hockey fans should give props where props are due.

as much as I wanted Pittsburgh to win tonight I'm totally okay with getting another to watch another game between these teams. It's been an awesome series so far and I wish it was over but I'll be looking forward to Wednesday

Oh yeah, this has been a great series...I mean, 3 games have gone into OT. I wonder if it was a sign when the Caps were down 3-2 and then made it 4-3 (lol).

But since when was Chicago that good? I never heard much about them, but it seems like they are a very good team
