I think that Pens are gonna take the cup this year. It may take 6 or 7 games, but I think they will take it. Hopefully I get to see some of it since I am out here near Pittsburgh.

I just don't think the Pens are a good enough team yet. They need more production from the people not named Crosby and Malkin, and I don't think that Fleury is a good enough goalie to stop Detroit. They just aren't consistent enough yet

I think they've been getting enough production from other guys....

Guerin has 14 points, Gonchar and Kunitz have 12 points, Fedotenko has 11 points, Letang has 9, Talbot has 7....

that's really not too bad.

I also think Fleury has been better this year than he was last year. And Hossa has been worse this year than last year. Same with Datsyuk. That guy is practically a non-factor offensively.

Pittsburgh averaged 5 goals a game in their 4 game sweep of Carolina. They've got an average of nearly 4 goals per game for the entire playoffs. I think this series will be a lot closer than you and markdh think. I see it going to 6 or 7. I admit I think Detroit will win but I'm not counting out Pittsburgh. I honestly didn't think they could win last year, but this year I do think Pittsburgh has a serious chance. But again, I think Detroit will beat them in the end I'm not going to stop cheering for Pittsburgh to win.

Detroit takes game 1 by a score of 3-1. What a shock. But it looks like Detroit's injured players aren't gonna be playing today either. This game will be interesting

Wings 2, Penguins 0. As a Wings fan, I really don't care how lucky our goals are, as long as we come out with the win. A win is a win. Also, I am pumped at how stupendous Ozzie has been. He has been great in the first 2 games. They say Dats might be back by game 3, which would help us out. Go Wings!

well, I just have to point out that Pittsburgh was down 2-0 against Washington and they rallied to win 4 out of the next 5. I still think a win for them is possible but they MUST win the next 2 at home no matter what. Then it becomes a 3 game series and the first 4 don't matter.

I would honestly love to see this series go to 7 games. I love a stanley cup final to be decided in the very last game. It's more exciting.

The Pens will at the very least win game 3. Coming back home will be a boost to them like it is any other team.

We don't get Versus at the house so we had to watch it online but it was okay... missed most of the second period though so I did not like that. We are driving into Pittsburgh on Thursday and watching game 4 on the Trib Tron. I am so excited, you have no idea.

No, second period had no goals at all, which I am happy about... but I missed the action. Originally we were watching the feed from Canada (Hockey Night?) and it went down so I found a broadcast of the feed from Versus so it was all good. Waiting until the news at 11pm to get the highlights and talk. It is so nice to not have the sports portion of the broadcast be all about the damned Lakers!

But yeah, one down, three to go. And games 5-7 will be back on NBC so I can actually watch them on the tv!

Even on TV the feed was pretty bad. Not sure what the problem was but it did fix eventually.

Yeah, it was CBC. It was a really bad feed and it was streaming so it would freeze periodically. The Versus feed froze once but only for three or so seconds and was fine, but the CBC one was doing it constantly during the beginning of second period before it completely went down.

yeah... that might have been the problem that was giving the TV feed so much trouble too.... cause at some point it just stopped having problems and came through perfectly.

Not a surprise though... stupid "public" television... or, government corporation... whatever they want to call it... either way tax dollars go towards it and it's a terrible station.

I thought it was a good game, the no call six man on the ice for Pittsburgh might have given them the win... they did end up scoring within the next 30 seconds or so, which would have been a power play for Detroit had it been called. Oh well, can't change the past, you just have to look forward to game 4 tomorrow night.. GO WINGS! and I agree with you geeogree, go magic!

well, did the sixth man play the puck?!? I'm not sure if that is part of the rule or not for sure but if the sixth man wasn't involved in the play then I don't know if it's actually too many men or not.

but yeah, any single missed play may or may not have changed the dynamic of the game. There were plenty of things that weren't called that technically could be called penalties... but I don't know too many people that want to see 20 penalty calls in a finals game. And sometimes they have to call penalties that wouldn't have actually affected anything but were so blatant that they couldn't be ignored.

Either way I'm excited to watch tomorrow's game.
