If there would be no commercials, how would you get out to the public what you are selling. The companies would loose a lot of money through this.

The main thing that would be affected are the shows themselves. The main income for any network is their Advertisements. Without revenue these shows couldn't exist. That or the quality would be greatly reduced.

Well, the T.V stations would go out of business, because they wouldn't get any money from advertisers. But let's just say that T.V companies didn't go out of business. Shows would either be longer or more shows would air, a lot of companies would lose revenue that do a lot of TV ads, and it would ultimately would bring more ads to the Internet. If companies can't advertise on TV, they will move over to the Internet.

I honestly think that people would be more productive.
Number 1?
The money spent on comercials would go to making jobs or perfecting the product/performance/service.

2) I miss the days when people actually read stuff. I think those days would come back.

3) Better health. People would actually walk around more and get more stuff done.

4) Better Scores in edjucation and recreation.

I see a ton of good things if adds got off the T.V. and back on the Billboards.
(For Example:: When is the last time a movie poster has blown you away?
Art makes a comeback.
Radio gets popular again though riddled with commercials.

I see progress in this fiction that will never happen.

Good Luck To All.
Peace.

Well, the only T.V I watch doesn't have commercials, and I have been doing this for years. I seem to not be affected, besides getting angry whenever I have to actually watch commercials. Commercials lately have just become beer and sex parties, and I can get really annoying. I don't think I have ever actually bought something because of the commercial they have.

Well there are some channels around the world (e.g. The BBC) which don't have advertisements at all. In the UK a TV owner has to pay for a 'TV license', which is a yearly fee for watching (technically live) television that is supposed to cover the costs of the BBC's advertising.

Whilst having no advertisements does mean more actual television on the screen, paying money for something that could easily be free seems a bit of a rip-off. Plus as others have pointed out already, no adverts on television means that you aren't exposed to the things that would catch your interest during them- such as upcoming movies, music albums or even video games- that you would be less aware of otherwise. Plus you can always skip through channels whilst adverts are showing...
