Google collects everything. I was locked out of my gmail for a while because I had blocked cookies and they don't like that stuff. If you use gmail they keep everything you send and receive, even if you delete it they have it forever.

Their goal is to collect all the information everywhere, basically. I hadn't thought about this fact in terms of Chrome, but it doesn't surprise me in the least that they do this with it. But now I definitely have decided that I won't be using it haha.

I don't get why people are so anxious about Google. I couldn't care less if they got all my info, their servers are secure and their applications are awesome. Well, aside from chrome.

"JigSaw and myself have come to the conclusion that the reddit site sucks. They're also incredibly rude, very liberal and die hard athiests."

THAT sounds like my cue! :3

I think people are just generally concerned about their privacy. But I don't really do much that I worry about others finding typically. I don't mind the gmail thing, it's my favorite email regardless. And they've already proved themselves to be pretty solid about not giving up people's information. I can no longer remember the exact occurrence, but I remember a few years back (in the hey-day of the P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act) that Google was the only company that was refusing to turn over their customer's search info. That endeared them to me regardless of what they do with the info themselves.

They dont collect identifiable information. There more concerned about the large number of sites that dont appear correctly in chrome, and how you use it (lots of tabs.. lots of tabs idle, many flash clips) so they know how to make it better for the next version.
