So yesterday, I was using my mother's laptop, which is a Windows 7 Ultimate,  and I played around with the settings a bit. I don't know if anybody else figured this out, but I found a way in which I could both mute the RGR game and still be able to play something else in the background (all on the laptop) such as music, live streaming, etc. Basically, all I did was right- click volume settings  and then you go under "Open Volume Mixer". Once you're in here, you can see the settings for Speakers / Headphones, System sounds, and whatever applications you have up and running. The Speakers/ Headphones is basically like the master volume control and altering this alters all of the sound settings, I'm not too aware of the system sounds, but by changing the settings for the application, you can make it louder, softer, or just straight up mute it.

By muting the game in the RGR you need at least two browsers; the one you want to run the other program on and the one in which the RGR game is running. By "muting" (or completely turning the volume down) of the selected browser with the game, this allows you to mute it while being able to use the other browser with lots of sound.

This may not work for everybody though. If anybody has anything to add on to what I've already mentioned feel free to post below.

Uh, yeah, I've always used this. I think it works with any OS past Vista. I mute Chrome and open iTunes or Pandora in Firefox. I think other people know about this too, but it's good advice for those who didn know they could do this.

You can also use this to mute an emulator and then listen to YouTube or something. This is more convenient for me because turning of sound on VBA messes up the speed.

Yeah, I've known about this for over a year now, I think. Not a huge secret, Nya~ .

Too bad there isn't a trick like that for Windows XP. It's a pain having to listen to game tunes when you just want to listen to real music, Nya~.

Great trick and all, but this and more solutions are available in the RGR forum.
