I added some extra alternatives to your poll, I hope you don't mind.

Anyways, I personally think Firefox is the best when it comes to experienced users, nice array of features, tons of add-ons, very customizable and the like makes it very versatile.

But kudos goes out to Opera for being really fast and memory efficient.

yeah, adding the extra options was fine, though i'm not sure why you separated mozilla and firefox into separate choices...

Well Mozilla is an very old browser, I don't think anyone uses it but it deserves mentioning.

Oh and DarkHyren, switch to Opera, Mozilla, Chrome or well anything. IE is highly insecure and makes your computer vulnerable as f***. It's pretty much like asking for viruses.

i dunno why but i just dont like foxy. i may try opera, and i tend to stay away from beta products so i may miss on chrome.
but you never know, there has been the rare occassion when i do use them.

I use Firefox, used IE before and hate IE, I have opera and that is an okay browser but I never use it. Safari is awesome but the version I got seems to lack support on some things. Never tried Google Chrome and really don't want to because I don't like Google when it comes to searching for stuff

IE is quite light weight.. Know why its lightweight.. THEY LEFT OUT HALF OF CSS PARSING!!

I love FireFox, as DM said, very customizable and nice, but over the last few years, its become very bloaty... I do like chrome though, I use it and i dont seem to miss FF too much. A few display problems here and there, nothing that cant be fixed though.

Safari seems nice, but it FEELS laggy, even though its not that bad.
Opera is also nice, got some addons, and features other browsers dont have. And if the nice things I hear about opera 10 come true when its released, I think I'll use that.

Firefox doesn't require any add-ons to be easily usable. :<

Anyways, tried out Chrome again. Has some interesting ideas — Separate processes is a godsend — but overall rather meh in my opinion. I'd rather go for opera if I want something small.

Edit: Just remembered that Chrome was one of the fist browsers with built in porn mode, which is awesome.

hehehe, porn mode. Think custom build of FF have got it labeled as that...

Chrome also has features to check mem usage of any running browser. Ill disable all ones for FF, and test them all tomorow.

Just took a quick look then, at browsers not connected to any internets. Heres my findings.


Internet Explorer 7 - 7mb
Opera 9 - 17mb
Safari 3 - 28mb
Rogue - 32mb
FireFox 3 - 38mbz


NOTE: I did have some addons enabled in FF.. weather that makes much difference ill find out tomorow.

well, firefox needs a java plug-in that never quite worked for my computer. hell, i couldn't even go on vizzed board with firefox

First off, what the hell on the java plugin. O_o

Secondly, porn mode is pretty much a feature where nothing is stored on your computer, you activate it, look at your porn, deactivate it, and no traces of your porn is left.

Well, none of the computers that i've used with firefox can run javascript, which may or may not be the fault of the downloader.

In terms of browsers, it's what you want. Add-ons, Features, and a whole array of useful gadgets? Firefox. Least Mem usage? IE. Pure, Unaltered speed? Opera. Porn Mode? Chrome.
Absolute crap? Safari.
But it has been tested, and Opera 10 is THE fastest out there. Nothing beats it in terms of PURE speed.
Doesn't have good pop-up blocking as does Firefox, but hey, I need and get Speed. ;P

EDIT: Thus, there is no best.
Also, on the note of Google Chrome. The whole separate process thing just makes me think it's cheating. I mean really. ;P

im really seeing that ziggy. like i was googling for a random name generator and one of the links that was supposedly safe hijacked IE and tried to install this virus.
you know the one, that damn "you have a virus, install our software" one.
good thing avg caught the thing that was installing itself.
but still, i had to end the process otherwise more of it would have gotten in.

i think i may try chrome. hows chromes pop up blocking?
