Can use WiFi for games, just get a wireless-N series router . I get a <1ms ping from one end of my house to the other, and full 54mbps connection speed. And im only using a wireless-G adapter. If I had a wireless-N adapter, it'd be better than a standard CAT5 lan (Theoretically speaking)

wireless deffinatly just for convinience, wired does sound more reliable though.... but i enjoy being able to use my laptop every where

Well I'am a wireless kind of person since I don't like being tied down but everything has its pros and cons.

Wired offers:
fast if it is or above dsl/cable speed
reliable aka unless the wirebreaks it will always work
Increased security aka online 1 wire unless we start getting into hubs and routers
A pain in the ass...wires everywhere man Dx

Wireless offers:
Mobility you can do your task almost anywhere
Easy sharing over wireless networks
No mess to deal with =D
Inconsistent connection speed and sometimes frequent d/c Dx

With that said I like wireless because I prefer mobility, but If I need something I have to get done will go with wired since that way I'm certain I will get the task done. I can only hope wireless can become more reliable =o

I would choose wired because most of the time, it's faster and more reliable. But, if you have a laptop then I would recommend wireless.

Wired or wireless??? I chose wired cuz it cost less,it is faster then wireless and somehow it makes me feel better when i shot noobs on metal gear online because its faster(i now i already said its fast but im board)

Wired internet is alot better then wireless internet.
More reliable, better speed, better security, more bandwidth, lower cost.
Remeber, this thread is about wired internet VS wireless internet, not wired networks VS wireless networks.
But even then I would take the wired network as well in most cases.

Of course personally I'm always near my switch so I don't need wireless anyway.

i like wireless better because then you dont have to worry
about cords getting in the way. but then again most
wireless cords use batteries. i guess either one could be
useful.

Wired gets my vote, it's faster, more reliable connection also getting the right modem doesn't cost too much extra. (From my exp in Australia, i dont know how much wireless modems cost anywhere else and i dont care)
Also some shady sales person sold my mother wireless internet and told her because she lives in a house on the corner it will be faster then wired internet...

i would say wired or wirless for the cpu because wires can get all messy and dust can appear but i tested and the wired way goes faster for the cpu only wireless is good but a little slower... but like no differnence its like only a little different

i preffer, wireless. cuz i can use pc or loptop very easy with cordless mouse or cordless keyboard like using my pc about 4 steps apart to my pc, not like those wireless, it can be snap cuz it always stock with the other wires bihind the cpu, it strugled my time when using my pc with this wires, i think im going to pull this wire now and buy new wireless mouse and keyboard.hehe...
