Manhunt 2 - Should it have been banned?

 
Should Manhunt 2 have been banned? It was given and 18 cert and still got banned. If a game gets the highest cert, it obviously isn't for kids. It's up to the parents to know what kind of video games their kids are playing.

I can't comprehend the retardedness of adults when it comes to video games. Adults watch violent horror movies, porn, violent horror movie porn, and then they yell at the teenagers and ban games because ONE person got stabbed in it, or there's 'visual representation of a red bodily fluid'. Stop fXXXing sheltering us, we're not going to grow up in a perfect little carefree world, so why are they banning games all over the place? It's a chunk of software!

I'm not complaining, because it was the company's fault for making it too violent/mental/offensive/whatever.

I recently picked this up for the Wii. It's a great game. It's a shame it gets blurry when you do the real brutal stuff but meh it doesn't take away from the game at all. It's kinda silyl that people got so worked up over it although it is quite vuilent in areas... Hmm...

The game awards bloodthirst; and I really don't see any reason why people would be interested in the game other than wanna-be-rebellious teens. And since teens aren't old enough to play Manhunt legally anyways, nobody is really at a lost here besides the few adults who like games about chopping people up. At least in Mortal Kombat, Fatal Frame, Resident Evil, Silent Hill, etc. There is always a REASON as to why who kills who, and always some distinguishable heroes and villains, even if the line is thin.

Strangulation with a telephone cord, sexual mutilation, just plain crude Manhunt can be. I think it should have been banned, but I guess that just makes me the odd man out.

Anyone who gets off on playing this game is f'ed up and should probably leave this board like right now because I don't need a future serial killers posting on this board.

This game has all the right to have the proper chance to be released, because from what I know none of the actions depicted in it are illegal to depict.

Now if stores want to carry it, that's a whole other question.

There is kind of a point in Manhunt 2 for the killing. There is quite an interesting story in it and since the wii version is censored I'm ok with it. I don't think there is any reason to ban games. They are simulated, not real.
I think that maybe certain games should only be sold in certain specialty stores.
Anyone that can't tell the difference between a game and reality has deeper problems then playing violent games.
