so basically you admit that he died again.... under a religious definition of the seperationg of body and spirit, yet the bible does say (not sure where), that he would take up a body again and that he would not die again....

I don't really think he's trying to know what we believe unreal. And the website deosn't have all the explanation in a way explained to him. I think it's better we do the reserch in the Bible and explain it in our own words.

I under stand what you are saying light knight, and i had the same intentions but the real reason i posted the website was because of this...^

Jehova witnesses always came to my house and my dad would talk to them. Then my dad went over to their house and they wouldn't let him in.... A funny story I think. The problem with thier theology (its easy to point fingers) is that its based on a man's visions and not on the bible. I think the main think to look at is a religions foundations.(I think)

interesting thought.... however, LightKnight has been able to show that all the doctrines discussed so far in this thread are Biblical....

that's not to say I agree... but he has shown how it could be possible to derive the said doctrines....

I do agree however to look at the foundations/founders of a religious movement and to judge them also on what they are currently doing in the world.... that doens't neccesarily decide truth, but it does give a good additional point of view to look at

I posted that last post without reading the whole thread(of which I should have) I also aplogize for my horrible spelling. OK I am very suprised that LightKnight is a JW. Would you be kind enough to explain how you came to be a JW and why your not a protestant. ALso I would like to ask if there are different Sects of JW and if a few wackos give you all a bad name? Mabey your from a liberal JW church? The JW in the town of chamberlain is JW Kingdom Hall. And they do believe alot of the statements that David made in the list. Many of which contradict the bible. From my understanding and talking to JW this is what I see wrong. I'll take the time to look at things later this is just what I think.
1. The JW I know put a huge emphasis on "good works to go to heavan"
2. They are kindof like a sect or cult and do not welcome people with open arms. (mabey this is only in my town) Lets say because they are dressed poorly or somthing.
3. The JW down the street doesn't believe in the trinity and I don't agree with the 144,000 getting to heavan.

The morman and jw gets mixed together in my mind alot of the time. Is some of your doctrine not in the bible and based on a persons visions? I know the morman doctrine definantly is. I will put more later when I have the time.

1. Not sure about this. It's possible, but I haven't talked to one to know this for sure.
2. Well, where I live they like to come around to everyone's houses and talk to us and stuff.... so, I think they would probably accept people if they were actually interested in joining.
3. It is true that they don't believe in the Trinity, however the part about the 144,000 was believed until they had 144,000 members and nothing happened. The belief was changed after that and it now incorporates the large crowd mentioned in the verses that the 144,000 is talking about...

as for mormons.... the doctrines that mormons believe are all found in the Bible. Like the JW's, they may not interperet a scripture the same way that you do

They come around here and talk to people too. But a Philipine person came to the church and pretty much got snuffed. But like I said it was probably the church. The ones I know don't stand up for the pledge, don't sing the starspangled banner. DOn't vote, won't join the military, or associate in a social setting with anyone not a JW. There are propbably different sects of JW that believe different things. I think they are just as guilty as the Catholics in beleiveing and practicing the doctrine that comes from the Watchtower/Vatican. Whatever the Watchtower say is infalable. This is just what I know about the JW in my town because my dad would always talk to them. Sadly I was really young then so I'll look into it on the internet and ask my DAD.

fair enough... but I have found them to be that way too.... they aren't supposed to put anything else higher than God.... which, makes sense in it's own way.... but refusing to do the pledge of allegiance because you think it's putting your country higher than God is kinda stupid....

Well, I will answer the 3 point zylo mensioned
1. Well we do believe good works are stored in heaven, if you think of it, the bible is saying good works are remembered by god in heaven.
2. We are NOT a sect, ( hate it when ppl call us that) the dictionairy actualy calles us a sect, because the name "jehvahs witnesses" was dedicated by a man and they believe we "follow" that man, wich is entirely false. Just that he is the leagel... founder of jehovah's witnesses from a legal stand point, thus the system views us as a sect. And most JW are some of the most open ppl I know, but I can see how you were mislead, JW do believe the sripture, that states to be no part of the world, and the bad association spoiles usful habits, so we do try to limit unesesary association with ppl of the world.
3. We do not believe in the trinity. But all JW believe 144 000 will go to heaven and the gread crowd are those who will be resurected on earth.

As for the watchtower... if you read an article, you will see everything said has, in parethisis, sricptures that showes were it came from. The reason we have the watchtower is because there is alot of good information and reaserch put into it. But anyreligion can read it, and look up the scriptures and belive in it if they wish.

And Zylo you said you should of looked on the internet. BAD idea, JW is a fath some ppl just seam to love to spread rumors about. My father once talked to somone who said we only eat cabbage. I mean it's insane how rumors spread. And no there are no different sects to JW, I have been to dosens ( and I mean dosens) of kingdome halls and the same things are said there. There are no conflics. There are wackos like you said who used to be JW and spread rumors, we call em apastates. Some congregations have different personalities, like some are a little more uncomfretable with achool, though they no theres nothing wrong with responsibly drinking it, they just feel uneasy. And theres nothing wrong with that

A big difference between the mormans and the JW is that the mormans have an extra book, the book of mormons... witch contradict strongly the bible, I've tryed to talk to mormans, but as soon as you start comparing the bible to there book, they leave. At least that's what's happend to me.
Why am I a JW. Well I was raised as one. My perents though me there principals. Then at the age of.... 13 after I had done reaserched, and seen with my own eyes that all my beliefs were in one accord with the Bible, I deticated myself to God and was baptised. (complete submersion)

And yes we don't salut the flag, vote, join the millitary because that could be viewed as putting country over God. And the millitary is to train ppl to go to war and (indirectly or directly) help kill other ppl.

yup, the mormons have extra books... but not one, 3.... yup, 3 extra books....

and eventhough people think that the Book of Mormon and the Bible don't agree.... that's not true.... the doctrines out of both books are actually very close

When they asked Jesus whether they should pay taxes to Cesar or not he said "give to Cesar what belongs to Cesar and give to God what belongs to God" And in the Bible God is wrathful, vengful, and warlike. How many times do the Hebrews go to war? I think god doesn't mind war at all. because there is a time for war, and a time for peace. You could say that the goverment could tell you to murder innocent Civilains or some such, but I think thats a weak excuse. You can always refuse when it comes down to it. As for association with unbelivers. Do you think you shouldn't associate with a bible believing protestant? And if there was a "Sect" and there were many shady things about it, it would seem like they wouldn't put out their contraversial stuff in there literature/and/or/propoganda. Thats why I don't think you could find the shady stuff on JW in thier own literature unless you look closeley. But yes you must take everything on the internet with a grain of salt.

Some questions: Would you be comfortable if you left your church and went to a Assembly of God church LightKnight? Do you think that Catholics go to heavan?

And yes the bible says to "store up treasures in heaven because the earthly treasures pass away." But the only way to get to the father is through Jesus Christ and thats what I'm talking about. Please don't take offense by anything I've said either.

I am a pagan. I can't call myself a Druid cause the way Druidry works I have to advance to that rank. Right now I am the lowest rank called a Bard. my friend and I are studying to become Ovates and from there we'll try to become full Druids.

SO pockets you call yourself a Pagan because you don't believe in god? and you worship mother earth? I'm interested in what you can do being a druid? And what exactly you beleive? Don't you think if being a druid worked then more people would be druids?

I call myself a pagan because that is what the religion is considered.

I'm still learning, and it's slow going since information is difficult to find around here. I'm only a Bard right now but from what I understand is there are several dietes in teh Druidic practice. It's not pagan because we don't believe in God or Gods or Goddesses it's Pagan because that is what the Catholic church described all religions like that.

As a Druid magiks available to us include speaking with animals, shape changing, weather control of a moderate level though the ancient druids were said to be able to call up thunderstorms. We can put up warding/sheilding spells,my personal specialty, and healing magik which i am not quite as good at.

My warding magik is my best skill currently.

So theoretically you can Ward yourself from say... rats or evil? Where does your power come from? Yourself or mabey the earth? Also do you think there is a supernatural evil?

I can ward myself from intent, like if I put a good enough ward it should help prevent those with malicious intent from noticing or finding me. It can prevent supernatural attacks or attacks by energy of other kinds. (not including electricity or whatever, a bolt of lightning hits me there wil be no glowy shield around me or anything like that.)

I can also ward other people and even things. I put wards around my ex while we were going out and for a month and a half or so she was in less trouble than before.

The energy i use is personal energy within my body and I borrow from the Earth itself and nature around me.

I know there are some supernatural beings that are not benevolent. They're violent malicious and cruel and I try very hard to protect myself and others from such attacks.

SOOOOO if they're are supernatural "evil" beings, and the world had a good/evil balance. Then would you say there are good Divine beings? Have you had any good examples of your druidic powers? Also since you don't beleive in gods and goddeses you believe the world came about by chance?

There was never chance, since his parents had intent before doing anything. I have plenty of examples of precognition, but it's not like you would believe me if I told you.
