If you like books you should check out the News Flesh trilogy by Mira Grant. She invented a whole new sub genera for zombie literature and it fits quite well. The whole deal with the world still functioning even though when people die they come back to life with a mixture of virology placed in it to inform the reader not only about the plot but how the virus works so the reader understands the new world that has been created is genius. She's the Mozart of zombie literature. So read it.

My favorite zombie movie is Zombieland, because it makes laughs out of an apocalyptic scenario, and that would brighten it up.

My favorite book is the Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks. Really helpful material.

If you want a zombie movie with an interesting twist, I suggest to look up the movie "Ahhh! Zombies!" Basically, they take the approach of a zombie apocalypse from the perspective of the zombies. It is actually pretty funny, and a bit corny. It isn't meant to be scary at all. It is a B movie, a low budget film with unheard of actors, but it is worth a gander. 28 Days(and Weeks) Later was fantastic, though it isn't technically a zombie movie(the creatures aren't the undead, but the living infected with the Rage virus). Resident Evil is a decent series if you like a lot of bloodshed in a zombie movie, same with Dawn of the Dead. Shawn of the Dead is a funny parody, with some pretty graphic bloodshed thrown in at parts. I've seen so many zombie movies that I'm pretty sure I could list hundreds, though only a few were ever that great.

As for books, the only one I can think of at the moment is World War Z by Max Brooks. It is a pretty well thought out book on an apocalypse setting. I suggest you take a read if you get the chance- it could save your life if we ever fall into that type of scenario!

My favorite Zombie Movie? that is Dawn of the dead the one where they are in the mall because it was one of my first and the Mall sounds like a real place people would go for shelter.

My favorite book is the Marvel Zombies Comics because of the humor of how the super zombies act and how they do end up meeting Ash from Evil Dead in one of the comics.
