It seems that many of the users of our site dislike torrents. Being the torrent fanatic I'm I have decided to create this thread as to ask why people think torrents suck, rocks, are indifferent or whatever.

Will give opinion later on in the thread when I get the motivation to write it down.

Here's some of my list:
- When people do not seed
- Makes my computer run slow as heck. (200,000kbs/s in processes?!)
- Direct Downloading can be faster (Most of the time)
- Download speed DOES NOT stay about the same.
- Ever try downloading a 2.3 gig file, and getting it at 4kb/s? NOT. FUN.

-Torrents are a hassle because you gotta install a program
-Torrents usually take a while before they get good speeds
-Torrents usually require you to have to upload and that sucks
-Torrents have been known to give me viruses

-Can find anything using them

Torrents rock because they destory noobs computers who dont know how to virus scan. (No offence david )

- Do you seed? Point proven.
- Err.. get a better torrent client (utorrent).
- Sometimes, but most servers max out at 500kb/s.. I got an extra 200kb/s in there to get!. Alot are restricted to 104kb/s. Quite often i get torrents that are over 250kb/s. But dont forget its not a high quality download service, if you want the file this instant, maybe you should buy it.
- Course it dosnt, because people start and stop seeding and downloading..
- Refer to the point about seeders.

The good:

+ Multiple files is a good send so that you can get whole discographys/seasons
+ Low weight (Downloading like hell and using only 10Mb)
+ Doesn't get affected by server downtime (Even if the torrent site crashes you can still download.)
+Longer lifetime (When official server goes down it may still live, if the official server for a direct download goes down then it's dead)
+Private trackers own!
+ Can handle crashing without having to restart the download.

The bad:
- Private trackers can be hard to get onto and sometimes ahs the stuff you need.
- Drains bandwidth like f***cakes (Oh wow I gotta get that word copyrighted)
- Counts to much on human kindness (Which almost only exist on private trackers)
- I had something to put here but I forgot.


So there's my list.

You have to be smart with torrents, know who your are downloading from, and make shure there are seeders for the torrent. Also, you have to port utorrent or whatever you use to be able to download/upload the torrent faster.
