I'm not surprised at all that my average is 61.

What is the average word count per post currently? I'd love to see how certain members stack up against that sort of an average. Would show more accurately who is adding quality to Vizzed instead of just quantity. I also wonder how many posts with more than 61 words I'll need to catch David

noelia : I really think it will.  It's been brought up many times that the Crazy House forum posts shouldn't count toward post count or that they should only be worth 1/4 or 1/2 of a post since they're so small and sometimes spammy, this solves that problem.  It's also been brought up that big posts (like reviews) should be worth 2 or 3 posts, this solves that problem as well

This really does solve a lot of problems.

legacyme3 : I think one of the reasons the word count average on the entire board is as high as it is is because when newbies introduce themselves, they usually make good size posts.  Now once a newbie starts posting, there's a good chance that their posts will be pretty small but a lot of members don't get past the Newbie Forum.

I love how Post Experience is the new way to list members. This could really give credit to where it is due. For example, play4fun is one position behind me, but he has only made about 1/4 of the number of posts I have done.

If people want to see members listed by post count like before, they can just click on Posts above the list of members. All-in-all, I see this as a win-win.

That sounds like a fair feature. I was wondering if it would be possible to counter the abusers of the new system. I imagined a lot of them would go from making tiny spam posts to increase post count to making long random ridiculous posts to increase post exp. At least this way, we can always take their useless words away if necessary.

I love that we can effectively cancel out any spam made to cheat the system.

Overall, win win. It doesn't change the quality of the words... but it's a nice start to getting rid of 5 word posts.
