I am, personally, a casual player. I play to enjoy the games; I don't see the point of making them harder and/or more difficult. Admittedly though, sometimes I do exactly that. In trainer games, like Pokemon Emerald, I would deliberately create a weak team to try to compete with. So I suppose I actually waver between hardcore and casual.

I'm a casual gamer, with a hardcore gaming attitude.  Well sometimes...  I don't have that many games, but when I get a new game, I stay up pretty late playing it.  I'll probably become more of a hardcore video gamer when I get the Wii U.  No one really challenges me in video games, so I feel like I got a lot of space to do my own thing in.  I don't have to beat anyone (No one else in my house plays any sort of video games.  Except for me!)

Casual. I used to be very hardcore but my gaming interests faded as my music and film interests grew. Now, I'm a hardcore Film and Music buff. I'm just a gamer plain and simple. I never worried about "hardcore" and "casual". Even if I tried to classify myself, I'm sure someone would argue against it.

I don't play a lot of mainstream games. I mean, I've played was Final Fantasy but I haven't actually gone past when it first got popular (I've pretty much only played the older ones). Most of what I play is more obscure.

I used to play a lot more popular titles when I was younger though... Mario, Mega Man, Kirby, Donkey Kong...

I would say I'm a casual gamer and depending on the game it was I would be hardcore lately the new games have been easy I have not seen a game out the that has got my attention but I'm casual I enjoy playing time to time not every night like hours hardcore .
