I love to hear the acoustic guitar, because the sound is so pleasing to the ears. Electric guitar is close behind in my mind, only because it doesn't sound as smooth.

Any and all String instruments.
Harp,
Violin,
Bass,
Guitar,
and the Piano even.

I absolutely have to have music with strings.

For me it is kind of like not hearing your best fiend or something.

It is also about the callus on a persons hand.
You know the person is serious about music when it can actually cause pain to even bother gracing the subject.
Overcoming people begging you to stop when you are just learning is one thing.
But actually playing till your fingers could bleed is another level all-together. ( With the exception of the piano. That is a different yet equal sacrifice.)

I can not express the admiration I have for people that learn how to play string instruments.
It is sooo painful to begin learning.
But the payoff is so beautiful... you might sell your mama's soul to hear it again.

Then again.
That's just me.
And I could be wrong.

This is a good question, I also really like electric guitars, they just sound really amazing. But I do like the violin and the piano, plus I like the sound of the saxophone, which sounds cool to me. I really wish I had taken the chance to learn an instrument in middle school, it would really have been a great skill to take up on, because it is creative and yes it is very challenging when you start off learning an instrument, but the results you yield afterwards are amazing. If I had taken the chance to learn an instrument, I would've liked to learn the violin first, because once you figure that out, other instruments like the mandolin and the cello or bass, and even the piano is sort of similar in a way. So a violin is a good spot to start off, because once you know how to do that, playing all these other instruments is much easier, and is almost the same concept, give or take a few minor things. But I like the piano, electric guitar, violin, and saxophone as my favorite instruments, they are all unique and they sound amazing in their own way.

I have always liked the guitar and I also like the piano, violin and the saxophone. For me, my favorite instrument would be between the bass guitar and the drums. I couldn't really pick either one as I love them both equally. I used to play the drums only for a short period of time and I enjoyed it while it lasted. My favorite bands are Tool and A Perfect Circle (my username, right?) because of the magnificent bass play and drums. I think they have one of the best bass players of all time and only Neil Peart from Rush would surpass Tool's (but then again NOBODY is better than Neil Peart on the drums). Ever since I was a little kid I found myself beating something to the beat of the drums or just listening to an instrumental from a bass guitar. I love music in general, though.
