Whenever you go abroad you do tend to do/say stupid stuff,i sure have, but i find it more fun to laugh at others.right now where i live, the population has doubled as people from around the world come to atend the world's largest city festival.
I saw one american couple trying to shove coins into a vending machine, before they realised us coins dont work in scotland.then, the woman said "we need an english quarter"
There are a few problems with that, one uk currency dosent have quarters.2, the thing she was calling a quarter had 20 pence stamped on it.
Now regardles of where you are,if its a nation operating on the decimal system, all coins add up to 100. 4 20's dosent make 100,basic math skills would be helpfull when using currency.
2:i have long ago learned, dont talk!as soon as tourists, predominantly american ones hear me,they say:omg gawsh, you have a scottish accent.at this point i proceed to facepalm and stop myself saying sarcastically:a guy in scotland with a scottish accent, unimaginable huh?a bunch started asking me to teach them the national anthem when i came out of a rugby match wearing the scotland flag.
Here is my favourite:im surprised theres so many scottish people here,i expected it would mostly be english people.
I had to try not to laugh at that, funny scotland being full of scottish people, you might find more english people in england, lol.
This one my friend heard at the train station, edinburgh castle overlooks it.and an american started to talk to him,and what he said was unbelievable:
Boy,it sure was smart of you brits to build the castle right next to the railway.
Hahahaha,greatest thing ever.
The same guy then asked a tour guide how old the castle was,his tour guide answered:older than your country.apparently he got pretty angry at that remark,i dont really understand why.
Oh and everytime i walk past the statue of greyfriars bobby, the tourists that dont know the story, think my dog looks like it and start taking pictures of him =p
Tourists are awesome XD
