This review is the first of its kind...its going to be a review on the underrated Crash Bandicoot: Nitro Kart for the Gameboy Advance. I actually just recently got it from another user by mail and it is awesome. So far that is, but I use to own this even before that, but it got lost, but now I have another for my posession. This game is also known to be the first Crash Bandicoot game with full motion cutscenes. Now let's crack out the review.
DIFFICULTY: 7
The game does in fact have the tough parts when you go deeper in the game, because this game doesn't have a default difficulty, it automatically sets when you progress more in the game. As you progress, the game gets tougher and tougher and tougher. There isn't a difficulty setting in the options menu or anything, you have to be skilled to beat this game. You can beat it, but it will take time to master it. It took me a while for me to beat it.
DEPTH: 7
This game has a bit of levels to beat per level. With some secrets that you can beat if you wanted. There is a good amount, this game has a good amount of levels and has about 4 worlds or something with about maybe 4 or 5 levels each. Somewhat of a long level 4 worlds with 5 levels each is a 20 Level game, which is pretty good for a GBA game, not too long, but it isn't a short game at all. Its just right.
STORY: 7
It shows story, and I found this is the story: On Earth, Crash Bandicoot and his friends are relaxing while their nemesis, Doctor Neo Cortex, ponders his next course of action in regards to defeating the Bandicoots and achieving world domination.[19] Suddenly, both groups are abducted by a mysterious white light that takes them to a large coliseum somewhere in another galaxy. This galaxy is ruled by Emperor Velo XXVII, who plans on having the group race for the entertainment of his subjects. He promises the Earthlings that winning the races will win their freedom, and threatens them with the destruction of Earth if they refuse to race. So the evil Velo wants a race for his entertainment. Pretty simple racing storyline. Its pretty good IMO. Stable and it isn't too obvious.
ADDICTIVENESS: 9
This game is pretty addicting and you can play it with friends if you have the access to do so. This racing game is pretty impressive to keep me playing for so long, and you are detirmined to defeat it once you start, I can almost garantee that you will want to do this. Pretty impressive to keep my interest for about 2 years or so. Yeah, it is.
SOUND: 7
The sound isn't anything special, it has some voiceacting in it, some good music in its worlds, pretty catchy, actually, and some funny quotes from some characters. The PS2 version has better stuff, but the GBA isn't anything to sneeze at either, so I'm impressed with their sound FX and music quality with this game. I like it.
GRAPHICS: 8
The game has some good graphics for a GBA game, now that you think about it...I think it might have some 3D effects if you look at the tracks correctly. And the characters spinning when you choose a character in that screen. Yeah, I think it does have a 3D perspective to it. Pretty good too. There is no similar graphic quality in the tracks or racers, its something different every track. They did a good job on that.
OVERALL: 9
Overall this game is definitely a good game to play and I suggest playing this right now. I really do like this, well, that is why I ordered it in real life. So, I must have a good review on it. So, do me a favor and get this game the spotlight, because this is very underrated. Go ahead and play it now.
