A hard question to answer to someone like me that hasn't gone out with someone yet, but I'll try, this might help me in future. I would say looks would be important, but not as important as personality and similar hobbies. Of course, if they are both open minded (such as I), then some different hobbies might be good, as they could try each others out and see how that goes. So someone that's willing to try out new things might be nice, as I share that interest. I suppose the real issue is asking that person out anyway, you won't know till you talk to them. Like they say, "Ask and ye shall receive" in this case, most of the time....I hope....

Personality is the main thing that a lot of people would like in a women. A person that shows courtesy and kindness to others is also an attraction that people prefer.

Looks are what happens to get me first then after I know them how they look is not important to me nearly at all. But looks get me first.

For me, it would have to be looks/a nice smile, but depending on the situation it could actually be things in common or kindness, that triggers me at first.

While I'll definitely find myself attracted to a pretty face, I'm more drawn in by her personality. She's gotta have a good sense of humor, for sure, cause I'm the perpetual funny guy. Intelligence is also good. Also, I prefer girls who understand my open nerdiness (and hopefully share in it).

Oh man. There's so many different factors:

- Usually if she is quiet or speaking softly when everyone else is shouting, I really notice that because I'm quiet so I notice my surroundings.

- Afros or afro-textured hair is something that I really dig.

- Emotion. Whether it be happy, sad, or whatever, if she's not blank, I notice. Blank is cool too though lol this line may be pointless then.

- Different. Maybe it's because I often feel out of place, but I really seem to connect better with these individuals. Whether they be from another country, ethnic background, or whatever.

- Body. I've had seen many a woman with all different sorts of bodies and I really have no favourite. This one is harder to quantify because it seems the more people I see that make me feel some kind of connection or hope, the more my heart opens. For example, age is really is not a factor (I'd marry Björk and she's 46!), nor is weight, race, and so forth. 

- Personality. This is actually connected to the aesthetic points. Generally UGGS and The North Face clothing trigger a "NO" from me. When I see that it almost immediately tells me that this person has not taken the step to become her own person. She is in a group that embraces these things. She has no strong opinion of anything or any interest at all. Of course this isn't always the case, but after many scenarios, this seems to be the case, at least where I go. Anyway, I'm just trying to communicate that expression, clothing, and even choice of colors, hairstyle, and so on gives hints to the personality inside. I generally look serious or always thinking, wear plain, often solid coloured clothes, and yet I seem to give off a sense of genuine kindness and naivety (according to my professor). Maybe I'm just rambling.

All in all, there are many factors which grab my attention. I don't consciously think of most of what I described in that first instance, however, my mind likely makes the quick calculations to give me the immediate reaction. The mind/gut/heart is a funny thing.

What I look for in a girl is intelligence. If she has that, then I don't care if she has a Zoidberg face. Beauty would be an added bonus.

Pawsrent : What do you have against Zoidberg faces??? My sister happens to possess a Zoidberg face. Lol I kid, but it wouldn't matter because I'm pretty sure that she doesn't even know who he is. 

Anyway, that's very nice to read. At the age of thirteen (right?) and already a great sense of what to look for in someone. It's easy to say, much harder to put into practice. From your example, however, I sense that your words are genuine

I love a good outie belly button. When I see that a girl has an outie, my legs are like jello and I can't form complete sentences.....I'm not a freak.

In the sense of forming friendships, what attracts me to a person is their intelligence, and of course, sense of humor. I have a large tolerance for people, so I know all kinds of people. I consider myself a people person with a magnetic personality.

Romantically speaking relationships....I'm attracted to intelligence, sense of humor, well groomed, nice teeth, style of dress and employment.

Indeed, I'm really attracted to a good personality. I like smart girls. I don't really rely on physical traits. Of course, I'm not usually attracted to someone as soon as I see them. I originally didn't care for the girl who I like now because I didn't know her well and my idea of her was based on what others told me about her. Now, I swear I'm in love with her. She's smart, funny, and creative(that's the big one to me). Plus, we share a lot of the same interests which is very important too.

Well the only way for me to throw my monkey wrench into this is by using stuff from my life. For me I have a thing for women that are smart. I get one heck of a thrill when I go to get coffee and I see a good looking woman reading a book and no I'm not refereeing to crappy romance novels. I'm refereeing to something of relevance. For instance the famous epic poem Inferno by Dante.  But I digress. I will say this one last thing for me I base my initial approach on two things looks and her demeanor. Then as I get to know the girl I base what I think about her based upon her intellect and personality with looks being a small bit of what I think of her. But this is just me this isn't for everyone.
